Cheney warns of new attacks

Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years, and said he fears the Obama administration’s policies will make it more likely the attempt will succeed.

In an interview Tuesday with Politico, Cheney unyieldingly defended the Bush administration’s support for the Guantanamo Bay prison and coercive interrogation of terrorism suspects.

And he asserted that President Obama will either backtrack on his stated intentions to end those policies or put the country at risk in ways more severe than most Americans — and, he charged, many members of Obama’s own team — understand.

“When we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to do anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry,” Cheney said.

Hi there, AD.

I'm amazed to see that you have recently posted,

"Things are going to get very ugly."

I'll check your postings to see whether you ever provide any further details about what you feel will happen. Myself, I'm having violent nightmares about invasion & warfare, HERE, in the USA - as opposed to "mere" civil strife or something like "outright" revolution.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on your posts, and hope you continue to participate --- as things might devolve quickly into a very UGLY scenario --- even, say, without ANY violence of ANY type --- just look what the top 25% of Harvard Business School grads, who are so damn proud of their MBAs --- just look what they did to Wall Street and how their EVIL has afflicted people throughout the globe. And how much worse that EVIL may take us all. So "just" the economy, without invading armies could make things dangerously UGLY, soon.

Bye for now, AD... I can't expose myself to anymore info about the "doctor."

Hi Pennie,
I don't have any concrete details of what may happen in the future.

The uninformed American people have unwittingly elected a muslim as CIC. This alone does not bode well for the future.

Combine that with the policies, actions, and words of this muslim and you have a recipe for disaster.

Wish I could be more specific. At the same time, I'm glad I can't.

I'll participate as much as current life will permit. It's good to be back on FR. I've missed it and all the FRiends I've made here.

Take care pennie.

Those uninformed people you refer to are pervasive, ubiquitous, just everywhere — and they will be utterly unprepared for the “inevitable” occurrences that the experts expect.

The uninformed American people have unwittingly elected a muslim as CIC.

Whatever his upbringing, he does not seem to display many signs of any kind of religion, either Muslim or Christian or even pagan. It might well be preferable if he did.

Instead, he gives every appearance of being a card-carrying Marxist and atheist.

Thank you JP - much appreciated. Re the following link, are these LEOs not cognizant that females (no matter what religion) could have concealed weapons upon themselves or within their clothing? Shaking head here.

Windsor police chief Gary Ssmith apologizes to Islamic community for offending their beliefs during FBI arrests

Snips: Windsor police chief Gary Smith has apologized to members of Windsor's Islamic community for offending their beliefs after officers arresting two FBI suspects at gunpoint patted down one of their wives.

Windsor police initially distanced themselves from the controversy as it was an RCMP and FBI case. An RCMP spokesman told The Star that police had the authority to conduct pat-down searches if they deemed it "necessary" for "safety reasons."

In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in U.S. history

"Suspicion about the Alavi Foundation transcends three administrations," Rubin said. "It's taken ages dealing with the nuts and bolts of the investigation. It's not the type of investigation which is part of any larger strategy."

The assets include bank accounts; Islamic centers consisting of schools and mosques in New York City, Maryland, California and Houston; more than 100 acres in Virginia; and a 36-story glass office tower in New York.

Examining the Hate Report (East Carolina)

Snips: The report says North Carolina is home to 30 active hate groups.

The Nation of Islam validates their claim for a complete state or territory of their own because of slavery and injustices suffered at the hands of "white America," according to their official Web site. Representatives from Muhammad Mosque 79 in Greenville declined comment on the report's findings.

In a phone interview, Heidi Beirich, director of research at the SPLC, said a group is considered active if it has had any kind of activity in the 12-month period the study examines. This activity includes holding a rally, publishing documents and regular maintenance of a Web site.

"It doesn't have to do with whether the group is violent or not," said Beirich. What does matter is a group's ideology and the statements made by the leaders or on their Web sites. The SPLC says a hate group is a group that attacks or maligns another group of people based on certain characteristics.

"For example, we list The Nation of Islam, which is a black separatist group, because in their official ideology they say all white people are blue-eyed devils … It's that 'all' that we are looking for," said Beirich.

Italy: 17 Algerians arrested in terrorism probe
Nov 12 2009

Milan - Police have arrested 17 Algerians on charges of criminal association and falsifying documents stemming from a terrorism investigation, Italian authorities said today. The suspects were apprehended between Wednesday and Thursday in Italy and abroad, Milan Prosecutor Armando Spataro said.

Police in Milan said that six of the suspects were in Italy. It said that anti-terror units from Algeria, Austria, Britain, France, Spain and Switzerland were cooperating in the investigation. Spataro said the initial investigation involved terrorism, but the suspects were not being held on charges of international terrorism that were introduced in Italy after the September 11 attacks. He said that investigators were still working on the case and no other information was immediately available.

The Milan police said in a statement that the investigation, which started in 2007, uncovered an active organisation with several international connections.

Dutch arrest Somali terror suspect wanted by US 11/11/2009

Netherlands - Dutch prosecutors said Tuesday they have arrested a 43-year-old Somali man wanted by U.S. authorities for allegedly financing Islamic group. Prosecutors said in a statement the man lived in Minneapolis before leaving the United States in November 2008; he arrived in the Netherlands about one month later.

The identity of the man, who was arrested Sunday at an asylum seeker's center in Dronten about 45 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of Amsterdam, was not released in line with Dutch privacy laws. The statement by the national prosecutors office said American authorities asked for the man's arrest and have sought his extradition. E.K. Wilson, an FBI spokesman in Minneapolis, said: "We're aware of this individual and of this arrest, and it is related to our ongoing Minneapolis investigation."

Man arrested at B.C. border with 'terrorist resources'
Wed Nov. 11 2009

VANCOUVER — Paranoia and naivete led a Syrian man to lie about why he was crossing the border with nearly $1 million in gold and what's been called "terrorist resources," says the lawyer for the man who has been held as a potential security threat since early last month. Khaled Nawaya, a flight instructor, was arrested by Canada Border Services agents when they found $800,000 in gold coins and other currency in his car and pockets on Oct. 6, as he crossed into Surrey, B.C., near Vancouver.

"He didn't want to be taxed on it," lawyer Phil Rankin said Tuesday. "He should have gotten legal advice on that and just declared the money. Had he declared the money, that would probably be the end of the story."

But his actions, along with other politically-charged items found in his vehicle, are now being used by government officials to build a case depicting him as a national security threat. The 35-year-old faces the Immigration and Refugee Board on Thursday to learn whether authorities have grounds to keep him in custody. He'd been living in the U.S. since he was 17 and had gained approval for permanent residency in Canada.

Besides the gold, Canadian agents found a ring bearing the insignia of Hezbollah, which has been listed as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government since 2002.

They also seized 9/11 conspiracy theory-themed DVDs and a scarf adorned with the images of a former Israeli prime minister and a U.S. president depicted as monkeys.

Regarding our earlier posts about vitamins made in the USA, even if they are, there's apparently no guarantees about quality control for pharmaceuticals either, noting:

Genzyme drugs may be contaminated with steel, rubber

Medicines affected include Cerezyme, Genzyme’s biggest selling product, as well as Fabrazyme, Myozyme, Aldurazyme, and Thyrogen. The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company’s shares declined the most in three months in Nasdaq trading.

The contaminated drugs were made at the Allston Landing Plant in Boston, said Food and Drug Administration spokeswoman Karen Riley in a telephone interview. The plant was closed in June after being infected with a germ known as Vesivirus 2117. The Allston plant is the main factory for Cerezyme and Fabrazyme, and its closure caused a shortage of both treatments.

Man hurt in Montco blast; explosives seized (PA)
Sat, Nov. 14, 2009

Montgomery County authorities last night were detonating explosive chemicals found in the garage of a 36-year-old New Hanover Township man who severely injured his hand in an explosion, authorities said. Montgomery County Sheriff John P. Durante's bomb squad had detonated seven batches of chemicals by 11 p.m. and expected to blow up four or five more, Durante said.

Shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday, police were called to investigate an explosion in the man's New Hanover home in the 2600 block of Deep Creek Road. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital. The bomb squad was called to the house to deal with explosive chemicals in his garage. Durante said the man was trying to put the chemicals into cylindrical containers.

Durante said the New Hanover Township police and the FBI are investigating.

Obama visits Muslim country while Americans reel over Fort Hood terrorism

A majority of Singapore’s population are Muslims. At this sensitive time in American history when we are reeling after a Muslim terrorist slaughtered American military personnel at Fort Hood, and seething after U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced the decision to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed - one of the principal orchestrators of the September 11, 2001 attacks - and four other alleged war criminals in New York Federal Court rather than in a military tribunal, our president and his family are visiting his roots in Malaysia.

Irishman wants to kill for Islam

An Irish jihadist living in Pakistan’s Swat valley says he is preparing to wage war against British and allied troops in Afghanistan.

Khalid Kelly, a former altar boy from the Liberties area of Dublin who used to be known as Terry, told The Sunday Times he is undergoing weapons training in Pakistan’s mountainous tribal region in order to fight jihad against the enemies of Islam. His dream is to face a British soldier in combat, although he would “settle” for an American, he said.
