Text of Letter Delivered to Senators Specter, Collins and Snowe by Freepers Today(Porkulus)
Monday, February 9, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 02/09/2009 9:05:57 AM PST by kristinn

Jim Robinson delivered the following letter to the offices of Senators Arlen Specter, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe this morning.

The Honorable Arlen Specter
711 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510

Sen. Specter,

On behalf of the several hundred thousand members of FreeRepublic.com, I urge you to vote against cloture and passage of the so-called stimulus bill, or as we call it, the Porkulus Bill.

We appreciate your good faith efforts on improving the bill. However, statements by your Democratic colleagues show that they have no intention of abiding by the compromises negotiated with you. In short, the Democrats are playing you and the American people for suckers.

This bill needs to be stopped. If passed, it will pile so much debt on our citizens, with more indebtedness to come with TARP and the omnibus bill, that they will become slaves to that debt and slaves to government.

As you reflect on your votes today and tomorrow, I ask you to consider what our Founding Fathers would do in this situation. Would they sacrifice and endure short term pain for the good of the Nation, or would they vote to enslave future generations with unsustainable debt for short term gain?

May God save America from its government,

James C. Robinson

Great letter, Jim, good job!

I wish I could have been there with you, but I have bad guys to convict right here at home.

Jury duty...

I'll either get thrown off for knowing too much about how the jury system is designed to work or a criminal is getting justice!

I certainly believe that in order for something to change, we are going to have to band together in huge numbers and march on Washington.

The “honorable” members of Congress have long since forgotten who they work for. They treat their offices like it some cherished right and that we should be happy that they represent us.

The career politicians have now completely forgot the messages from the founders of our great country. It is our duty to remind them constantly.

Pick up your phone. Email incessantly. Make noise. Help them remember who the boss is.

1774 British print of the tarring and feathering of Boston Commissioner of Customs John Malcolm.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

THe live town hall is making me ill
Did you hear them boo the one individual that asked a less than fawning question?
And how about the guy that wants to be sure the stimulus check comes right to his mailbox without having to go through a third party. This is who elected the “one”!

Maybe he would just like the deed to my house directly to save the government playing middle man (But I don’t think he’d like the mortgage. Of course mortgages are something only fools pay)

Nailed It!
Moral Clarity BUMP !

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

I’ve sent emails to all my senators & reps - all demorats. This is the only reply I’ve received:

“Thank you for writing regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). I appreciate your confidence in me and for your time to write.

“The ARRA is designed to ease the pain as our state and nation deal with our troubled economy. I supported this act because the cost of inaction is far too great. Our country is facing a crisis. In Oregon alone, the unemployment rates are a staggering 9%.

“The ARRA includes support for the foundations of our economy with unparalleled accountability measures built in. The bill includes targeted funding support for: education for the 21st century; clean, efficient, American energy; modernizing roads, bridges, transit and waterways, lowering healthcare costs; saving public sector jobs, creating new public sector jobs, and protecting vital services; transforming our economy with science and technology; helping workers hurt by the economy; tax cuts to make work pay and create jobs.

“Our district will receive targeted funds that we so desperately need. By helping our schools with underfunded budgets we promise a future of highly trained individuals. By helping our small businesses now we keep dinner on the table for countless of our neighbors. And by rebuilding our outdated infrastructure we create new jobs for the unemployed and make Oregon more globally competitive.

“I understand that the ARRA comes at a high cost. However, the cost of doing nothing is far too great. Indeed, economists testifying before my budget committee stated that our long term ability to deal with our debt burden would be much worse if we allow the nations economy to sink without any support. We must be active in promoting our economy and stabilizing the United States as a model to the world.

“Thank you again for contacting me and should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact my office by calling (202) 225-5711 or 1-877-301-KURT.

“Sincerely,

Z

KURT SCHRADER

Member of Congress”

My letter To Senator Casey

Sen Casey

I see you voted for this stimulus Bill. How Can something with 18% of monies spent in next 18 Months be a stimulus Bill.

How Can almost 400 Million be spent on STD’s that will generate nothing but more lewd Contact. How can you be Pro Life with such an attitude??

How can you and Nancy Pelosi call yourself practicing catholic’s when any Federal monies for construction on a school makes That school unable to hold any religious events clubs , talks etc
You are in essence playing politics with GOD!!

How Can 3-4 Billion on an organization that is under indictment for fraud in 13 states be included with a straight face.

THIS IS OUR MONEY you are flushing away! Not yours.. get a real job and you can spend it like you want but leave ours alone for real needs not Frivolity!

Vote to kill this package and If You Vote to cloture supporting this Stimulus Bill along with senator specter, the Debt you will both leave our Nation will instill a Tidal wave of backlash You have never seen in any of our Lifetimes.

You will be a One Term Senator!

God Bless this Country!
