WASHINGTON (AP) - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had surgery Thursday after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the court said.
Ginsburg, 75, had the surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She will remain in the hospital for seven to 10 days, said her surgeon, Dr. Murray Brennan, according to a release issued by the court.
The court announcement said the cancer is apparently in the early stages.

I wonder if she will be on ET Tonight too?
I wrote a column about how this would likely unfold back in November: http://www.istherealawyerinthechurch.com/?p=113
“Can President Obama Change the Supreme Court?”
I have always had this crazy feeling that he would nominate one of his Harvard Law school professors. Someone like Lawrence Tribe.
At any rate I am so sorry to hear this news. I never agree with Justice Ginsburg, but would never wish this upon her.
The fact that she has had surgery to me means that they got the tumor before it spread. Some of you people act like nobody ever survives this. The reason it is usually fatal is because once you get symptoms it’s probably too late. A 1 cm tumor is small and depending on the type of tumor, very treatable.
I'd call that a draw.
Um, the high bidder?
I didn’t mean you in particular but others on this and other threads on this subject.
Thank you for explaining the facts. I was too lazy to try.
That would be right up his alley.......
Who fits that bill?
Finding a nominee more to the left than Ginzburg will sorely tax Obama. Right now they are checking whether Angela Davis has a law degree.
Will any of his SC nominees be tax cheats too?
Dreadful disease; politics aside,
Agreed
no one deserves this diagnosis.
Wonder if it’s worse than being burned to death inside the womb?
“Who could he find that’s more liberal?”
Never ask questions you REALLY don’t want the answer to.
“Pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis. Less than 5% of those diagnosed are still alive 3 months after diagnosis.”
What about the BEAST actor?
Too much work for bubba xlinton...plus it would cut into his swingin’ lifestyle with babes.
Roy Pearson, lol
Good point. I wonder how many million of babies she denied the right to reach 75 years of age?
