You know one of the major problem with conservatives and Republicans is that they are rational human beings and cannot conceive of somebody acting against the long-term interests of the American people.

These are the same archetypes who wondered aloud how Hitler could deliberately set out to destroy first the German population and later European Jewry fully knowing that Jews were enterprising and contributed substantially to the German and European economies.

What you have to understand is that Obama and his merry men and women and those who support them are by and large not pragmatists but ideologues who are more than willing to sacrifice the wealth of American and its people’s wellbeing to enact policies that legitimize their Marxist agenda; and that includes shutting down the oil and gas industry and eventually perhaps bankrupting the state of Alaska to get revenge for the effrontery displayed by Sarah Palin in trying to bring the Messiah down. (Perhaps they will also sell Alaska back to Russia with the provision that Putin place Sarah Palin in a Siberian gulag—just kidding).

My advice to conservatives: stop being so rational and read Mein Kampf, Rules for Radicals and Atlas Shrugged. After reading these 3 books I dare you to view Obama in the same light.

While it pisses me off that he did this, from looking at the oil production records in Utah, it appears to be more a "symbolic" gesture than anything else. I doubt it will affect production much. According to the Utah Oil & Gas website, there are 3,005 wells producing about 21,000,000 barrells per year. I can't imagine that this will have too big an impact on production.

Having said all that, I DO believe that this will show the oil market folks that Obama is no friend of fossil fuel energy and cause the price of oil to go up a little.

The lease auction, which the BLM staged under the Bush administration's directive to maximize drilling in Utah's scenic redrock country, fell apart when a University of Utah student, Tim DeChristopher, monkey-wrenched it by winning bids on 13 of the 77 disputed parcels with no intention of paying the $1.8 million owed for the leases.

The way socialists do things, win bidding on projects they have no intention of paying for. No wonder our country is going downhill.

I agree. We are rational Americans who believe in the system. These people have been plotting to destroy the American system all of their lives. American voters were fooled. But, these same people will just shrug and live under socialism with few of the rights they enjoy now. America is dead and we need to protect our interests fast or we will be executed as enemies of the state. Stalin didn’t kill 100 million for fun. He wanted them to be and stay quiet.
