The European Union warned the US yesterday against plunging the world into depression by adopting a planned Buy American policy, intensifying fears of a trade war.
The EU threatened to retaliate if the US Congress went ahead with sweeping measures in its $800 billion (£554 billion) stimulus plan to restrict spending to American goods and services.

If you want Dow 4000 just go one with your feel good protectionism.
Wait... I thought open dialogue, wearing casual clothes in the Oval Office, refreshing changes, and Hillary’s “Smart Power” as Secretary of State was going to wow the Europeans and the World and we were all going to “give the world a Coke” and sit around singing campfire songs, doing the snoopy dance, and wearing flowers in our hair. This isn’t going to happen?? Oh No!
He better do another speech at Brandenberg Gate! Ich bin Idioter!
Pray for America, Our Troops and obama’s Guidance
GREAT WORK on compiling that list. Please keep it up.
HOPE, CHANGE, and more of the same. Another useless politician.
I miss Reagan.
This guy is a complete neophyte tool
LOL - I like that and will use that!!!
Just hold on tight because it is only going to get worse.
“we were all going to give the world a Coke”

He already blinked. Nice. Welcome to Carter redeaux
I guess O’s actions aren’t his subtle way of saying, “How ‘bout ah pop a cap on yo’ pansy, pasty EU asses!” I’m disappointed.
You are going to be busy keeping that list updated....
So when other countries throughout the world start enacting similar policies making it so that our exports cannot be sold, will you still think that this is so worthwhile?
You think China will use our steel in their infrastructure projects? The way the trade laws exist today...I don’t think we would really notice a trade war...what do we trade anymore outside of cars which is not looking good...Why should I stimulate Europe or China by buying their products for my infrastructure work...it takes jobs away from Americans which is the whole point of the bill. Also, a protectionist move is underway in Europe as well as other countries. Read the newspapers and watch the international channels...people in the street protesting any foreign investment...jobs for us...if the US does this they have become the most stupid country in the world.
Me too...Reagan understood the difference between free trade and commerce. He stood up for American business. The worst thing he did was pick George Bush I, a big globalist...he enacted policies that continue to this day that have destroyed our economy.
“I screwed up.”
