Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee wants the GOP to reach out to candidates who support gay marriage and are pro-choice. Steele told Fox's Chris Wallace that it was "important" to reach out to those voters.
WALLACE: You are one of the co-founders of something called the Republican Leadership Council which supports candidates who favor abortion and gay rights.
STEELE: Yes.
(watch video)
WALLACE: Does the GOP needs to do a better job of reaching out to people who hold those views?
STEELE: I think -- I think that's an important opportunity for us, absolutely. Within our party we do have those who have that view as well as outside and my partnership with Christy Todd Whittman was an effort to build a bridge between moderates and conservatives.

Steele, your are an ass. And my apologies to all those cute asses in the world. Do not take offence.
No money to the RNC.
Cause they are not “moral” enough to some people here.. How about a party that stands for a limited Government???
What do you expect from someone who’s sister married Mike Tyson, a family of intellectuals? Certainly not Conservatives.
Some of you folks are funny.
If Reagan is truly the model, please tell me when he ever refused to work with somebody over a difference of opinion on gay rights or abortion issues.
The Reagan Revolution was primarily about small, conservative government. Rarely did he mention gay rights or aboriton policy. His positions on the issues were well known, but he did not seek to create division among those who disagreed.
In fact, it was quite the contrary. Reagan went to great lengths to reach out to those who disagreed with him, as long as he was able to win on principle.
Reagan never had to compromise his beliefs, nor did he exclude anyone who may have differed.
OMG!!! What the hell is wrong with you?
sw
I learned a lot about Steele from posters like you and the others who warned me about him...for I originally followed the “conventional wisdom” about Steele
Then when I started looking into his stances and beliefs...yikes. The GOP is in trouble
And, the stupidity of “reaching out to gays” when voters in every state have said “no” to gay marriage and other pro-gay
legislation
Also, LibLieSlayer, you were correct, too. Regretfully few followed your warning. You are owed an apology from many
2010 does not look good right now
ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I supported him too, and we get this? I am about done with this party.
Good idea, donna.
Colin Redux
Well, that was a short-lived hope for the GOP.
The beatings will continue until the morale improves.
No reaching involved with that. It's been know for years, in fact, so long that some Republicans have abandoned that message3. That's not reaching out. That's the opposite, which is to try to win all voters with the same basic message.
And what is his stance on illegal immigration?
Mine too. I am truly ashamed that the GOP can’t get anything right. They are just as bad as the Left.
Well he f***ing go again! I was hoping this guy would be different but he is the same old moderate, left leaning type of RINO we have been getting. The party better get out their shovels because they are dead now without the conservative base.
I’m out, screw the repubs.
“How can two walk together if they be not agreed”
We/I have no common ground with those who are in favor of
and participate in homosexuality and infanticide!
As Reagan said....”Let them go their way”.
It is evident that true conservatives are going to have form their own party because I believe that inviting with open arms, those
with liberal views on abortion and sodomy makes the party
weak and irrelevant.
And you can see plainly the consequences of this by the
the inept marxist who now occupies our White House.
I’ve just about given up all hope in the Republican Party. I think maybe I should be putting my time and energy into advancing His Kingdom instead of any earthly one.
Why not?
The GOP has been sodomizing Conservatives for years!
