It appears to be the case of unveiling the possible origins of the Final Solution by World War II Nazi Leader and Fuhrer Adolf Hitler. This is a piece of history that was almost forgotten.
For those familiar with World History, European History, and/or World War II History, one should know about the Final Solution. This plan was coined by Fuhrer and leader of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler. This is the genocide of the Jews in Europe. Many Jews were taken and rounded up in concentration camps where they would meet their ends by the gas chambers. That is if one did not die of starvation, inhumane experiments, and everything else.
That is the gist of Hitlers Final Solution.
However, a Catholic Priest may have uncovered the possible origins and beginnings of Hitlers Final Solution. This had nothing to do with gas chambers. It was still genocide in this respect. This was genocide by gunfire across Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.
This has been unveiled by French Catholic Priest Patrick Desbois after seven years. He spent seven years interviewing over 800 witnesses. They were more than helpful. The witnesses led him to numerous mass graves across the former USSR.
The end product is a good called The Holocaust by Bullets. This seemingly forgotten aspect of the Holocaust explains that there are over two-million Jews that died not by poison gas but by gunfire.
There is also an exhibition at New Yorks Museum of Jewish Heritage until March 15. If you live nearby the area, you could take the chance and check it out. Even though this interesting piece of history has been unveiled, Desbois continues to look for more mass graves.
This discovered method of genocide is just as inhuman and brutal as the gas chambers. So far, it is revealed that the book is very detailed. Paul Shapiro of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum supports the credibility of the book.
Desbois said: I am in a hurry to find all the bones, to establish the truth and justice so that the world can know what happened and that the Germans never left a tiny village in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia without killing Jews there.
Overall, it is through the hard and painstaking task of work and research in which Desbois was able to uncover a major piece of World War II and Holocaust history that could possibly never have been unveiled.
Anyone who would be surprised by this ‘discovery’ obviously hasn’t studied much history.
Next thing you know they’ll discover that the Nazis used vehicles where they vented the CO into the passenger area to kill folks.
I own the "Encyclopedia of the Third Reich" by Dr. Louis Snyder, copyright 1989. It includes entries for the Einsatzgruppen (Task Forces) and says that they killed 2 million Jews, and (of course) mentions Babi Yar, the site outside of Kiev where 35,000 Jews were massacred in 2 days.
These things have not been forgotten. The information is not new.
Hmm...didn’t the term “Final Solution” come from the Wannasee Conference? And wasn’t Herman Goering or Heydrich the person who coined the phrase?
Ahh, the old “Becker” van. The cost/Jew was too high and inefficient.
Exactly, IIRC, the Nazis recruited locals and native German police to round up jews and shoot or hang them in Ukraine and Belorus and the Baltic Countries?
I think you’re missing the point.
Fifty years ago people believed that millions died in Auschwitz. Now many experts - including the official Auschwitz historical panel in Poland - says it was about 750,000 people (if I recall correctly). Many people thought this meant that the official panel was denying that the old number (nearly 6 million) was correct.
What many historians, including myself, suspected was that many more Jews were shot to death by the einsatzengruppen than previously believed. Now, because of this priest the necessary evidence is showing up.
There have been several articles about this priest and his work over the years. He has done a great service by helping to clarify exactly HOW many Jews died in the Holocaust. This helps to refute Holocaust deniers.
I thought pretty much everyone knew about the tendency of Nazi special forces being ordered to round up targeted individuals/groups and slaughter them, then disposing of the bodies in mass grave pits. It’s unbelievable to me that this would be touted as a new discovery...??!!??
Good explanation. Thanks. I think that the journalist reporting this story explained the situation poorly. There is a big difference between expanding what is known about the actions of the Einsatzgruppen and (apparently) acting like the whole topic is new discovery.
It occurred to me that one of the big differences between Freepers and the media/left opposition is that the former are far more likely to display a useful knowledge of history, while the lefties know history only as a series of disconnected talking points.
In this string, two people mentioned Babi Yar and the Einsatzgruppen within a few minutes and apparently without seeing each other’s messages first, and others added more detail, such as the Becker gas vans.
Media lefties would probably regard this as very arcane knowledge, since their confidence in their own intellectual superiority leads them to assume that their own abysmal ignorance is the norm. Here, it is indeed common knowledge.
Hard on the engines, too. Just like the bullets proved to be too expensive and inefficient, and caused morale problems, as well.
Exactly right. The writer clearly does not understand Father Desbois’s research or its significance.
thanks for your reality post...it really helps when soemone knows what they are talking about, like you.
don’t you just love posters that just jump in with a nasty attitude and ignorance?
So naturally it's a shocking discovery for the reporter.
This information IS new.!!
You own the encyclopedia! whoopee do for you! this priest has spent years going to sites and researching to help put ALL the pieces together. Looks like the Revised and updated books will have his information added.
This priest went to areas that were never researched. so before you go slamming this fine man who has done good work, do your research.
It has taken its toll on this man, as he has done interview after interview. I could barely be able to get through a few, let alone hundreds!
It is possible to trace modern Islamic anti-Semitism back along a number of different historical and intellectual threads, but, no matter which one you choose, they all seem to pass, at one point or another, through the hands of Hajj Amin al-Husseini--Hitlers mufti.
In late March 1933, al-Husseini contacted the German consul general in Jerusalem and requested German help in eliminating Jewish settlements in Palestine--offering, in exchange, a pan-Islamic jihad in alliance with Germany against Jews around the world. It was not until 1938, in the aftermath of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlains infamous capitulation to Hitler at Munich, that Hajj Amin al-Husseinis overtures to Nazi Germany were officially reciprocated. But by then the influence of Nazi ideology had already grown significantly throughout the Arab Middle East.
Several of the Arab political parties founded during the 1930s were modeled after the Nazi party, including the Syrian Popular Party and the Young Egypt Society, which were explicitly anti-Semitic in their ideology and programs. The leader of Syrias Socialist Nationalist Party, Anton Saada, imagined himself an Arab Hitler and placed a swastika on his partys banner.
Though he was the grand mufti of Jerusalem, al-Husseini moved his base of operations (and pro-Nazi propaganda) to Lebanon in 1938, to Iraq in 1939 (where he helped establish the strongly pro-German Rashid Ali al-Gaylani as prime minister), and then to Berlin in 1941.
Adolf Eichmanns deputy, Dieter Wisliceny, testified at the Nuremberg Trials that Hajj Amin al-Husseini was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and adviser of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan. He was one of Eichmanns best friends and had constantly incited him to accelerate the extermination measures. At Auschwitz, al-Husseini reportedly admonished the guards running the gas chambers to work more diligently.
After the defeat of the Axis powers, Hajj Amin al-Husseini escaped indictment as a war criminal at Nuremberg by fleeing to Egypt, where he received political asylum and where he met the young Yasser Arafat, his distant cousin, who became a devoted protégéto the point that the PLO recruited former Nazis as terrorist instructors. Up until the time of his death, Arafat continued to pay homage to the mufti as his hero and mentor.
This unholy legacy continues. Hajj Amin al-Husseini has inspired two generations of radical Islamic leaders to carry on Hitlers war against the Jews, which is why today, as was true sixty years ago, it is not the Catholic Church that is the great threat to the survival of the Jewish people, it is Islamofascism.
Well, prior proposed solutions proved unworkable. In the mid 30s, the Nazis would have been perfectly happy to implement a solution which transported the Jews (without their assets, of course) to Africa or South America. They did manage to get thousands to the Middle East, despite British blockades. Attempts to send them to Cuba or the US were also blocked.
After war broke out, it became clear that resettlement wasn’t viable, and that’s when they looked for a final solution.
I think Heydrich is generally credited with the phrase.
