NEW YORK -- Most Republican governors have broken with their GOP colleagues in Congress and are pushing for passage of President Barack Obama's economic aid plan that would send billions to states for education, public works and health care.

Their state treasuries drained by the financial crisis, governors would welcome the money from Capitol Hill, where GOP lawmakers are more skeptical of Obama's spending priorities.

That sounds reasonable, but highly unlikely. It’s worth a try.

"If Palin has her hand out I’m done with her. Period."

"The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, planned to meet in Washington this weekend with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other senators to press for her state's share of the package."

"Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a former member of the House, said he would accept the stimulus money but would have voted against the bill if he were still in Congress. Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, said he wasn't sure whether he would accept the approximately $3 billion his state would be in line for."

It is not clear if she supports the package, or like Jindal is willing to take her share if it passes but opposes it.

Who are these RINO's?

We need a list.

Here, this might put your mind at ease.
This is what she wrote her fellow Congressman and Senators

http://www.gov.state.ak.us/pdf/ESLletter_Jan12-2009.pdf

She is after the Infrastructure Component of the bill, nothing else

Dear America:

On behalf of irresponsible Governors and legislators in liberal tax and spend blue states, like the Democratic People’s Republic of CA, NY, NJ....

Let me be the first to thank the rest of you for sending us your money and bailing us out. This will ensure that we can continue to be retarded libs with no consequences.

Thank you.

There is NO REASON for Republican Governors to lobby the House Republicans...it was going to pass, so why care who votes for it. That’s also virtually the case in the Senate (although a theoretical fillibuster could stop it, but good luck).

So what’s the point...and DO THEY HAVE ANY CLUE as to how much damage they cause the Republican Party by helping the Democrats separate the Republican politicians from their base.

Perhaps the Dems are right when they say that the Republican Party is out of touch...since they obviously are with these governors.

In other words: SHUT UP AND TAKE THE FREEBIES

"Alaska budget reserve suffers billion-dollar loss

A change last year in how a key state savings account is invested has yielded nothing but pain so far -- a loss of about $1 billion.

The reason is the stock market meltdown that began last fall. Because Department of Revenue officials plowed a big chunk of the Constitutional Budget Reserve into stocks shortly before the meltdown started, the state suffered the same kind of stinging losses many Americans have experienced in their personal retirement portfolios. Revenue officials, as well as state legislators who encouraged the stock investments in hopes of generating bigger profits, acknowledge their timing was dreadful."

If Palin has her hand out I’m done with her. Period.

She's being pummeled by Alaska Democrats for not seeking more money. Don't believe all this propaganda.

Palin, other state leaders at odds over stimulus funds

Lawmakers say there are concerns that Palin is seeking too little federal stimulus money, and Alaska may not get its fair share.
She's only requested $150 million for 4 gasline-related projects and 1 project to upgrade the Kodiak missile battery. Furthermore from the above article:
Palin issued her list on Jan. 12, saying it would not be a good idea to ask for more, and cautioned it was necessary to be "mindful about the effect of the stimulus package on the national debt."
This is just another lame MSM attempt to divide and conquer with Palin as a juicy target with her being in DC this weekend. Don't fall for it. That doesn't mean that a buch of RINO governors don't have their hands out. Unfortunately they do.

This is why we should have never been voting for RINO’s to “save the seat.” If we want them to govern conservatively or like republicans we need to have some step up and run, we need to support them. This business of we're too conservative to be political activists has got to stop, if we intend to save the nation.

EXACTLY, people gotta stop falling for this nonsense. Doesn’t mean that other Governors are not after more, I have no idea, but all I know is what Sarah Palin is after, and she has already said last week that she is for the Infrastructure component of the package, which Glenn Beck also said yesterday is very important, its just the rest of the garbage that the bill contains that I and everyone else is against.
Again, read what she wrote to other Senators on the 13th

"The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, planned to meet in Washington this weekend with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other senators to press for her state’s share of the package."

Bear in mind that the RATs have taken many, many projects that would otherwise receive funding under traditional budget processes and wrapped them into this monstrosity (or so I've heard). After all, part of the scheme to get the 40 years of liberal goodies is to put in essentials, making a no vote a bad risk.

Under those circumstances, it makes sense for ANY governor to seek some clarity for the important stuff. Judge not on the dialog but on what is actually being sought. Trying to protect a pipeline project that is vital not only to Alaska's economy but also the nation is a far cry from Ahnold looking for money to prop up Kalifornia's drunken-sailor spending binge.

Now, if Sarah uses language like Alaska's "fair share", shame on her. But I don't expect that to be the case.

We can’t. The so-called “two parties” (two sides of the same coin) have so maneuvered things that government is no more “of the people”. They can do what they want, whatever benefits them financially, and we can’t do a thing about it. Because too many people in America (I can’t call them Americans, some of them literally aren’t) want just this, hand-outs and bailouts and benefits and entitlements from here to eternity. What I’m wondering is just when the tipping point will be that there aren’t enough producers to tote this load (if it hasn’t already tipped).

The most outspoken critic has been South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, who has warned for months of a steep spike in inflation and a severely weakened dollar if Obama's plan passed.

Sanford ping!

What I don't understand is that the concept of cash flow is simple. Either you have it or you don't. If you don't have $1,000 to go on vacation, you don't go on vacation. Not so with an endless tax-based system. If the government doesn't have it, they pick pocket people who are already hurting, raise another tax somewhere, find something new to tax. Create another fine.

There has to be a special place in hell for these people. God bless our Gov. Sanford for standing up to these thieves!
