Former GOP presidential nominee John McCain on Thursday named fellow Arizona Senator Jon Kyl as a potential 2012 presidential candidate.
Asked on CNNs Larry King Live if he plans to support Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in the Republican presidential primaries, McCain said it would be improper to commit now because I dont know whos running, for one thing, because, for example, my friend Jon Kyl, my colleague from Arizona.
McCain then trailed off, appearing as if he had accidentally floated Kyls name.

Yeah...nuts he is...but I’m taking this kinda seriously...considering how the McCain miraculously recovered and shot to the top as the GOP’s candidate AND the number of supposed Republicans who voted for McCain (for whatever reasons), there are many ‘Republican’ globalists (some who are even Freepers) who do back Bush/McCain’s position on shamnesty and WILL promote someone like Kyl, who is pro-illegal alien/amnesty. They’re here...mostly hiding in the shadows. If McCain & the GOP promote Kyl, they’ll be shoving him or someone like him, down our throats. Whomever ‘he’ is, you just know he’ll be touted as the only one who can defeat Obama. We’ve got find a way to break the cycle and put an end to the rhinoism.
I feel dirty for ever voting for that slimeball.
Let’s face it, if Sarah Palin is the GOP nominee n 2012 then McCain will endorse Ted Kennedy’s corpse.
McCain only brought Palin into the mix b/c he recognized that she was his best chance to win. They might have had a chance, they were actually a few points up in the polls just before the economic storm hit in mid-Sept. and McCain stuck both feet in his mouth and just made a mess of things.
But I strongly doubt that McCain will give Sarah Palin the time of day in the run-up to 2012, which is just as well since his support would not mean much to very many in the nominating process.
I feel similarly slime-covered for sending the wackjob McCain (D) Arizona, money.
(I still wish he would have won; even Madman McCain (arguably) would do less damage to our Republic than Marxist, Malignant Narcissist Obama.
.
Jon Kyl, now there’s a real recognizible name for you. I’ll bet half the people in Arizona don’t know who he is. Somehow I can’t picture tens of thousands of people standing in lines for hours to see him, nor do I see a steady flow of money and volunteers flocking to his campaign. If McCain is endorsing him, he must be another reach across the aisle guy, who would run as pathetic a campaign as McCain did. Palin needs to cut off ties to this guy, and everyone associated with his campaign, for her own good, they are nothing but losers and backstabbers.
McCain smartly picked Palin as the best VP candidate for hom. The best person to help his ticket. She clearly was.
Who he supports is his business. Endorsements rarely mean much anyway. If Palin does as well as I suspect whenever she runs in GOP primaries, then it will not matter who McCain initially supports. If I am wrong and she flops in the GOP primaries, McCain’s support could not change that either.
Maybe, but when I write to my representatives, he is the only one that answers.
His comments on Gorelick on the 9-11 commission were quite interesting as he dismissed the efforts of the entire commission (quite rightly, IMHO)
In spite of a previous posting comment, he has an ACU life rating of 97 - McPain's rating is 75.
I like to think of him as our "good" Senator....:^)
Now I’m suspicious of Kyl.
Another day, another dumb ass move by McStain.
What will tomorrow bring?
I suppose that the MSM considers John McCain to be the current leader of the Republican Party.
Kyl’s been giving a hard time to some of the cabinet nominees, right?
I don’t know anything about Jon Kyl. I don’t know what he stands for or what he believes. Since I have embraced conservatism (former democrat - mea culpa), I have learned that having an “R” after your name doesn’t make you a conservative.
Rinos are worse than Democrats. With Democrats, you pretty much know who you’re dealing with. With Rinos, you’re not always sure until you’ve voted them in. They’re dangerous.
I thought McCain was the lesser of the 2 evils. I was wrong. Please understand.... I admire what he did in the service of our nation. He deserves our recognition and gratitude for that. I send him this missive:
Senator McCain,
You have honored and served our nation for many years. When will that be enough for you? Why do you feel the need to “hang on” in the political realm of DC? It’s time to let go, and enjoy life! Spend your time with family and friends. Have fun. Spend your remaining years relaxing and counting your many blessings. It’s much easier to retire now (while you can still enjoy it), than to have retirement forced upon you.
I know nothing about Kyl.
Now that he has McCain’s endorsement, I know all I ever want or need to know.
Who cares a sh*t what McCain thinks?
...It had "set in" shortly after (the honorable *snicker*) Sen. Juan "Keating Five" McCain, took the $$$$ during that scandal.
....along w/ 5 other (honorable *snicker*) Democ'RAT Senators.
It’s become undeniably obvious — McCain is STILL a prisoner.
The DNC has him by the throat, and he’s become the Dalai Bama’s bitch....
