Rush is very vulnerable. Remember how quickly people abandoned him when his medical problem was exposed and his subsequent prescription drug abuse? If Limabaugh ever reached a point where he could not be used and could harm Obammy, Rhambo would see to it that another ‘incident’ took out Limbaugh’s creds. To the criminal democrat enterprise/Marxist wave, you don’t silence a man like Rush Limbaugh, you shame him if you cannot use him.

This flap is NOTHING like the drug fiasco. This can only help Rush. How on earth could Obama calling out Rush “damage” him? If anything, this elevates his stature and boosts his ratings big time.

“Rhambo would see to it that another ‘incident’ took out Limbaugh’s creds.”

How long do you think it will be before Obammy has Rush’s divorce records unsealed/opened.

No, I don’t remember that Rush was abandoned during that period of time. I remember that Rush was overwhelmed by the support he received from listeners, to the point that he genuinely realized for the first time exactly what he means to the vast majority of conservatives, and how important we believe he is to conservatism. He was humbled by the fact that so few did “abandon him” despite the tremendous efforts by some to use his fault against him. Not only was Rush overwhelmed with messages of support, his sponsors were deluged with messages of support as well.

That said, I know there were some who “abandoned” Rush and considered him too flawed to represent their idea of what conservatism should mean. The same thing happened to other effective conservatives by their political colleagues, et al, which has drastically limited our overall effectiveness.

We are well past the stage where we can afford to allow something said or done, by shameless leftists, about any conservative to shame them into abandoning the fight, or us into abandoning them. I worry less about that type of vulnerability than a number of others that are much more serious.

No, I don’t remember that. Because it never happened. Let those of us that DO remember refresh your memory. Limbaugh’s program barely lost any listenership at all while guest hosts filled in for Rush at his rehab. Why? because the audience didn’t want to give the media any means to atack him. Usually people tune out when Rush is gone. High profile people took turns hosting his radio show just to ensure that didn’t happen. When he returned his show’s ratings went through the roof. During his absence he got well wishes from anyone of consequence. His subscriptions rose considerably. Even in the Liberal press when they ran magazine covers attacking him the support for Rush was HUGE and equaled the response of the full liberal court.

Do not try to re-write the history of that period.

Obviously you've just ported over here from an alternate universe, because what you said above didn't happen in this one.

(Please excuse compressd nature of my post. All I hav for FReeping is an old Palm Lifedrive... No cut&paste, spell-ck, tiny editbuffer to write in, etc.)

I noticed in one of your posts, you're concerned Obie is manipulating the masses, but Rush isn't even trying to do so.

Being LDS, I guess my POV is a little different. A major point of LDS Church's doctrine is the principle of Free Agency. We can choose what we do, but not the results. A corillary is manipulating others is an offense against God. If we work in harmony w/God, he will help "fence-sitters" to understand the nature & seriousness of Obie's threat to Liberty.

I think what we need to do is for each & everyone of us to learn absolutely everything we can about: the Founding Fathers, the Founding of our Republic, how it was meant to work, who damaged it (ex. Wilson, FDR, etc), how it was damaged, why self-responsibility is imporant undr governmnt, why governmnt likes uneducated voters, etc.

This used to be taught in public schools,(watered-down). It isn't being taught at all now.

BTW: A great starting point for learning all this is "Five Thousand Year Leap; Principles of Freedom 101" by W. Cleon Skousen.

Armed w/all this knowledge, each of us must teach his neighbor, as much as they'll let us. It'll probably only be a few words dropped here & there to begin -but once we start to whet people's thirst for knowledge of Liberty they'll want more & more. There is a drought of knowledge of Liberty, & Rats like Obie have tried to poison the roots of what is still remembered by mischaracterizing our Country's origins, roots, & icons. Its proving very hard for them, but until now they've had no opposition.

Once the electorate knows the Foundations of Liberty, it doesn't matter what Obie & friends do. It will be seen for what it is.

That's why I'm glad Rush isn't using manipulation. (the foregoing extremely simplified because of PDA..)
