So much for his ill-deserved reputation as the smartest guy in the world Obama can no longer vote present as in the Illinois Senate, or rarely vote as in the U.S. Senate, and the GITMO closure, his first big decision, is being seen as stupid by 58 percent of Americans.

Poll breakdown:
39,825 polled
Poll Question:
How stupid is Obamas decision to close GITMO within a year?
47 percent very stupid 8 percent medium stupid 3 percent a little stupid 42 percent not at all stupid
A plurality of Americans think Obamas first big presidential decision is very stupid. The uninformed, peacenik coalition of November voters is already breaking up in the face of the reality of terrorism.

I think there is some portion of the electorate that does just form some general impression of the candidates, and then casts their votes based on how they feel about them. One of the first televised pieces of evidence for this is some old b&w footage with several women saying: "Kennedy is so good looking," and they planned to vote for him.
Obama got a big white guilt vote this year, people who just felt good voting for a black guy.
“I say send these turncoats back to their people and let them deal with it expediently.”
I say put them all on a boat to the US and about 5 miles off shore, sink the boat. They outlived theie usefulness. We got every piece of intelligence information from them that we could.
According to the Geneva Convention, because they did not wear the uniform of a country, they have no rights. Let’s follow the rule book.
I think he’s putting a halt to the plans that were underway for offshore drilling. Gas prices will probably be back up in no time.
Yep, Biggy O doesn't have a clue what these killers will do. How can any one person be so stupid?!
I say send these turncoats back to their people and let them deal with it expediently.
This I agree with. It's the only option if he's h*llbent on closing Gitmo.
Change!
Pretty stupid. I think he feels bound to some of his louder campaign promises. And another one is coming up, and that is to add significantly more troops in Afghanistan.
That might be good move, but I don't believe for one second that Obama has any real commitment to that cause. During the campaign, he had made so much of his early opposition to Iraq, that it was wrong from the start, that I think he threw out the "more troops in Afghanistan", and he'd find bin Laden BS just to avoid sounding anti-military and like a typical, wimpy Dem on foreign policy.
I think he said several things purely as campaign tactics, but he might feel bound by some of them.
ABC this morning said he got very irritated at a reporter yesterday. They did not show the clip, but it sounded like he blew up at him for pressing him with questions. He's going to find out it is much tougher to govern, than it is running a campaign.
Alan Keyes (black vote) swung the election to Obama.
The other 48% are brain dead
Wonder what else President Change has in his bag of tricks...another 9/11? a nuclear attack? another Great Depression, perhaps?
May as well do all the damage in one fell swoop... it will be like cutting your leg off with a chain saw rather than a butter knife.
Ahhh, change you can believe in! BARF!
Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that the whole thing was political, political, political. He said it wouldn’t happen for another 4 years and BHO was only making the statement by signing the EO as a political show to his fans.
Too bad 58% of Americans didn’t know Obongo wasn’t stupid BEFORE they elected the POS.
“Obama is quickly demonstrating that he is a man with a lot of knowledge and virtually no wisdom.”
* * * * * * *
But he does have an AGENDA.
“This is going to be a wretched four years.”
* * * * * * *
At least the first year is over- it has been a year already, right?
That means 42% of Americans are EXTREMELY stupid.
I would, but for some odd reason, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry have stopped taking my phone calls.
Very bad things are coming our way. Count on it and prepare.
“According to the Geneva Convention, because they did not wear the uniform of a country, they have no rights. Lets follow the rule book.”
A return to a rule by law as I heard the Messiah say?
“I guess I just don’t understand why closing Gitmo is such a high priority. What is the issue with it?”
It offends European and Middle Eastern countries. Oh yeah, anything that offends the Mid East offends Europe. Remember the Oil-for-Food Scandal? Remember Europeans selling munitions to Sadam DURING UN sanctions? Wonder what they are selling to Iran?
Richard Burr has buried his contact info on his webpage, making it harder to get in touch with him. The last office staffer I spoke to was down right condescending. We are so screwed. The GOP is going to allow the dems to sail anything they please through the Congress.
