OK, armchair detectives, let's put our collective minds together. Princess Caroline is out, but why?
Obviously, the "excuse" of caring for her Uncle Teddy has more holes in it than a barrel of Swiss cheese, even a 5-year-old can see that.
Did Gov. David Patterson's 28-page disclosure document, which he required of all applicants, have something to do with it? It would have forced CK to reveal all sorts of details that she has tried to keep private for years. So - is she hiding something?
She is Pinch Sulzberger’s main squeeze and that would come out and wreck her arrangement of a marriage.
She knows she won’t be selected and quit.
She hates the publiciity and the press already for skewering her.
She doesn’t want to work full time. Perhaps some protecting of the kids of hers.
She is very cheap. No donations to politicos, when she redecorated Jackie’s Vinyard home she did it very cheaply and destroyed it. Maybe she doesn’t want to have to put out money and you have to in politics.
Maybe she is smarter than people think,,who in hell would do that job, junior to Schrumer, constantly at battle with Hillary and having to snuggle up to Harry REid,,you would be a moron to want to do it.
bump for later
past affair with neil diamond?
Maybe she’s going to be the new Commerce Secretary...
Too much like real work, that stuff other people do, you know.
She probably realized it would be more work, and much more public exposure, than she wanted. One of those situations where you think about doing something, then after a bit of reflection you decide ‘doing’ that, as opposed to ‘being’ that, demands a lot more effort than you are willing to expend.
I also suspect she’s pretty much gotten anything and everything she’s ever wanted and the further realization that you might be told ‘no’ would too much for your ego.
Whatever the reason, it’s a gift from God. There are way too many just like her, and worse, already in Congress.
America is doomed until we find the will to return to the idea of citizen legislators. The current situation of having a royal class of people to rule us little folks is obscene.
I see a very rough time for America over the next several years. We have serious problems, any one of which has the potential to take us down, and not a single one of the shows any signs of getting better or even being addressed in a way that offers hope for the future.
Ya know, I just don’t know, ya know.
Because she is dumb as a box of rocks and she has been told that with the Internet out there it can’t be hidden like it was when her ignorant Uncle got elected back in 1802.
It would cut back from her real job of world wide jet setting, either that, or they couldn’t come up with an Oldsmobile limo.
She is opting out of the appointment process in New York so she can move to Massachusetts to run for Uncle Teddy’s seat. There are less embarrassing questions to answer and interviews to do when you are running for Senate as a Kennedy in Massachusetts. Her election will be automatic.
I suspect she knew she wasn’t going to get it so she dropped out to avoid being taken out.
Probably because of the poor response from the NY political community. It didn’t seem that NY politicians wanted her in that position.
Easy to explain:
She was outbid
Carpool...
Carpond...
Whatever...
If she moves to MA in the near future and establishes residency, there’s your answer.
it was apparent she was not going to get the job so she opted for a more graceful “more time with family” way out.
Uncle Ted will soon be dead?
Maybe even the Guv realized that the monotone and “you knows” would reflect on NY even through the “Kennedy” mirror.
i thin you nailed it.
she can inherit ted’s job like a english aristocrat.
remember hillary established you only have to live in the state AFTER you get elected....
