Caroline Kennedy tonight withdrew her name from consideration to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate after learning that Gov. David Paterson wasn't going to choose her, The Post has learned.
Kennedy's decision removes the highest-profile name in the ring to step into Clinton's now-vacant seat, as she departs after getting confirmed today as President Obama's Secretary of State.
Sources said the reason Paterson had decided not to tap the daughter of John F. Kennedy was her poor performances in media interviews and in in private sessions with various officials.

I figured the reason was something like that -— that she would rather step out than be told publically, that she was not chosen.
Good. NO MORE KENNEDYS!!!
LOLOL and true! I actually might not have minded Caroline as Senator based on the presumption that she wouldn't have accomplished much.
Ted Kennedy is on his way out and all the democrats know it. The Kennedy power ends when he dies. The NY gov is just getting a jump on the situation. He knows there is nothing Uncle Teddy can do.
Truth. Ted is the last man standing for the clan. His brother’s writers and fixers are passing too. All that remaims are the deficient third generation offspring. We move on...
I see that and tend to agree but doesn't passing the bar take a tad of work and a smattering of intelligence?
Just wondering.
She ate, but she didn’t swallow.
I understand that she couldn’t pass high school English...
Unless you are a Kennedy. Honestly, would you want her as your advocate in court?
colin powell would make a great appointment. He’s a Republican that fits in well with the democrat agenda.
Hell even a blind man could see she wasn’t qualified......oops.
I wonder who Gov. Paterson will pick. Whoever it is will be a libDem, but there’s a woman in the running (can’t remember her name) who’s pro-2nd amendment rights I heard, and Tom Suozzi is against partial-birth infanticide and gay “marriage.”
Hey, just you watch how you’re talking about Governor Magoo!
It came down to Ferragamos or Manolo Blahniks, and she decided on the Manolos. Definitely. Except that after she thought about it for a while, she concluded that the Ferragamos looked better with black. So after some heartfelt agonizing, she picked the Ferragamos. Final choice. But then, it came to her: "I don't always wear black!" And the Manolos were just SO to die for, and she thought, "They would really be more practical!" But her eye just kept going back to the Ferragamos. In the end, exhausted by the ordeal, she decided to buy two pairs of each.
