Too bad.
That seat is going to go to a liberal democrat, best we could hope for was a lazy one like Caroline.
To: Smogger
Sad, if true.
Instead we'll get a schmuck like Andrew Cuomo.

Oh no! You mean we don’t get another NY senator just because of her last name?

She must have finally realized that you actually have to do something instead of being a faux princess

She would lose in a general election. My guess is the Dem bigwigs made her an offer she couldn’t refuse to get her to withdraw. They can instead put in a candidate who has a reasonable chance of winning in two years, like Cuomo.
Maybe Bubba wants the Senate seat?

So, in due time, she’ll be appointed to her Uncle’s seat in Massachusetts.

She’s probably going to get a Cabinet post or an Ambassadorship.

Maybe it can be given to Fran Drescher, of “The Nanny”, who has expressed interest.

But, she didn’t even get the chance to drown anyone yet, or make country-shattering decisions because of a brain tumor, or marry a foreign action movie star and influence him to destroy a US state. What about her legacy as a Kennedy?
To: capecodder
Exactly. Why be a NY Senator, where she risks losing at the next go-around, when she can have a LIFETIME Senate "career" in Mass.
