I don’t think Michelle is the formal type. She will not be comfortable at these events period. Doesn’t bode well for state dinners and visiting heads of state in other countries.

I agree... this one is worse than that brocade number she had on for the inauguration. And she keeps tripping on the gown every time she and King Obama dance that same dance to that same song - "At Last".

I can still remember the first dress I wore to my first adult (as in I had a professional job) Christmas party. Red taffeta, nipped waist, beautiful big ruffled collar. This was only 23 years ago. Now, you’re right, dress up is wearing clean jeans.
