Coverage of the balls on Fox News.
Her dress looks like a wedding cake turned sour.
LOL
Her girlish white formal is more appropriate for a warm midsummer's night presentation ball for the debutante daughters of local Rotary Club members....not for mid-winter.
How could two fashion selections be SO wrong in just one day?

You are added! :-)
As Perez would say ‘flawless.’
That could still be worn today (and should have been!!!)
Good grief...you want to draw more attention to that mouth??
You are added! :-)
I think they were trying to make sure her legs were covered this time.
It is better than the black widow dress - but certainly nothing to rave about.
The bar seems to have been lowered on inaugural ball Splendor. They've got people like Cheryl Crow playing at one, they've got friggin' Kanye West headlining at another, rapping away. The lustre of specialness and formality have departed. It's all rock and roll. I wanna see some stuffy old people.
That's what's missing.
When I think of an inaugural ball, I guess I'm stuck in the past, the image of the Reagans dancing in the midst of a dance floor (not as a spectacle on a stage) with elegant grownups gathered around them in dazzling formalwear comes to mind.
Is this what it's come to? The President visiting a bunch of gatherings full of kids looking for a hookup and oh yeah "Go Obama, Go Obama!"
Damn I miss the elegant old people. Maybe that will happen later?
Eaker - on an otherwise melancholy day, your comment on the junk in the trunk has me in stitches. Thank you for the pick me up!! Fight On!!!!
Burn out. Haven’t even lurked.
And wouldn’t you know, when I sign back on I find I am in a very tiny minority who think the gown looks good. (Ducking now!!!)
I’m a fur person myself and must say that this year—fur is all the rage again (yeah!) Everyone in NY is sashaying around in their fur, whether it’s a coat or hat, and I love it. Let PETA have a stroke, I say. ;)
It occurred to me, today, that the First Ladies, undoubtedly, play a crucial (if not the most important) role in ‘bringing the American and International community together’.
Though I have found the past Presidents not the ones I’ve voted for, or share my ideals with.......the First Lady has always shined, somehow, ‘above’ all of the ‘political skirmishes’ with poise, grace, manners, good taste, dignity, and kindness. You could disagree with the President.....but there was ‘The First Lady’ to ‘fall back on’.
However, I found that since the Clinton Administration......that, somehow changed. Hillary, bless her heart (that’s a term Southerners use so we can continue the insults like saying ‘Hail Marys’) just didn’t ‘cut it’. We had a society that must have looked upon ol’ Bill and said, “Well, no wonder, ol’ chap. You couldn’t help it. Consider what you’re waking up next to every morning.”
And, here, we have Michelle Obama. And, I’m wondering......are we ‘in for’ the same thing as the Clintons? Personally, with what she’s exibited so far......I’m thinking WORSE. I DO NOT think of her as a uniter. Not at all. JMO.
Obama’s chicken...has come home to roost!
She sat up straight, gorgeous woman. Her daughter must have been an incredible disappointment to her.
That's a good thing.
Makes me wonder too....
I can’t decide which was worse, the black widow number or the couch or the cotton pickin’ bedspread with the maxi pad on the shoulder.
Jackie’s daughter took after the Kennedy women.
Say goodbye to elegance and class. Say hello to attitude, arrogance, victimization, and heaven knows what else.
I can proudly say I watched not one second of this “crowning”
