The new White House website unveiled by President Barack Obama’s team Tuesday includes a shot at former President Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina.

Under the “agenda” portion of the site regarding Katrina, it reads: “President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.”

“President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina,” the statement on the site continues. “Citing the Bush Administration’s ‘unconscionable ineptitude’ in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims.”

yeah. like they are really really really going to "do something".

The democrat party was in charge of Louisiana and New Orleans. The state government is the one responsible for the initial response. But the nipple people are to frickin stupid to get out of the way of a flood, cause their next check might not catch up to them in order to buy some crack, MD 2020, or colt 45 malt liquor.

New Orleans was a shining example of the democrat party in charge of an adult situation. How pathetically stupid and ignorant.

The most racist thing we could do is to let the democrat party "take care" of the African-American population. Look at the strong work they've done in Newark, Detroit, Oakland, DC, Baltimore, Compton etc....

Yeah, I want mayor Nagin in charge of disaster management for the state of Louisiana. All he needed was more money, doncha know?

New Orleanians must be the only people in the country that don’t blame Bush about Katrina. We know better.

Unlikely that will happen because cities with mostly white populations are not welfare havens with people sitting around on their a$$e$ with their hands out expecting everyone else to take care of them and their leaders generally aren’t total doofuses like Nagin and Blanco.

"Bush because the man simply refused to defend himself."

For a man that ran a huge state for six years and came from a family in public life for three generations, Bush was and is incredibly naive with respect to public image. His father suffered the same fate.

For all the talk of Rove's Machiavellian strategy, the Bush Whitehouse showed a remarkable incompetence in managing the media and their own public image.

Bush should have been proactive and gone on the attack immediately regarding the ineptness and cowardice of Nagin and Blanco:

1. How they failed their constituents by not spending money allocated for levee improvements and

2. How they failed their constituents by not executing disaster plans.

Republicans need to get off this wrong idea that they have to be nice to incompetent and crooked Democrats in the name of bipartisanship, because the Democrat-controlled news media will blame them, not the ones who were negligent/dishonest/at fault.

Immature and classless.

Truly disgusting. I expect it's only going to get worse. It's heartbreaking to have such trash in the People's House.

Obama would never allow something so crass and insulting on the official White House website, if he wasn’t intending to throw every single conservative and Republican under the bus.

We’re on our own, people. They don’t care about insulting us, and couldn’t give a lick about mending fences with us, or reaching across the aisle to us.

They’re in control now, so they’re going to stick it to us in a non-stop orgy of pay-back for as long as they can.

Expect no quarter. This is their intifada.

Earlier today, I Googled 'Bush Farewell Address' and got a hit on the whitehouse.gov website, with a blurb and webpage link. But when I clicked on the link, it said 'Page Not Found' and directed me to the NEW Obama whitehouse.gov site.

I then did a search within the site on 'Bush Farewell Address' and got a single hit that had nothing to do wth Bush - it was a 'George' Washington biography that contained the words 'Farewell' and 'Address.'

History -- flushed down the Memory Hole, boys and girls. American history started today; we are in the Year Zero of our Dear Leader.

Call me tin foil attired, but the new ban on selling old clothes and BOOKS that have not been tested for lead will help complete the revision of history, it appears. It's for the chillllldrennnnn....

Regardless of how poorly our Dear Leader performs during his first crisis in office, MSNPRAVDA and other media will make him shine.

Probably should wait until the dumb Union and Conservative Democrats wake up and realize their wallets are never going to fatten up.

There’s something terribly wrong when people live as a conservative and vote for Obama.

I don’t know what kind of fighting you want to do but I just watched a President for the last 8 years make himself into a Domestic Punching bag. I just watched a dishonest group of people lay blame a financial crisis for the ages on this President without a peep from him—NOTHING!
I see people who think this war is what created this bad economy. I see people who don’t have a freaking clue about Obama. Their perception is not yours or mine and we’re waaaay outnumbered IMO.
I think no matter what happens, how bad it get’s, he WILL NEVER get the blame and the American people will follow him like they did FDR, I hope I’m wrong.
My only hope is the fact that good information can be transmitted in a blink of an eye unlike 1932, but so can bad information.

War??? Forget it. 7 in 10 republicans like Obama now. Hey, we have socialism, a commissar, a Politburo, soon a Gestapo police force, total gun and bullet control, massive tax increases, socialized medicine. Man, you can't ask for more free stuff at your own expense. Hell, if you got too keep all the taxes you are now and are going to be paying, you could buy all this stuff yourself.

That said, then I'll assume that nobody blames Bush for Katrina but democrat rabble who are campaigning for office, as obama still appears to be doing.

I don’t believe for one minute that 7 in 10 republicans ‘like’ Obama. The true stats are probably that 9 in 10 republicans are going to try like hell to keep a degree of class in the hand-over of ‘power’....and 10 out of 10 democrats are going to make a classless ass of themselves.

“Was Rahm-Bo doing this during Bush’s speech?”

No..it was his ‘warm up’ act before the throngs of Obama jack-asses screaming..:’RHAMBO’..’RHAMBO’ when he took his chief of staff seat.

I guess they like that the jerk sends people he doesn’t like dead fish in the mail and seems a bit cocky about his recorded conversations that are involved with the indictment of Blago!

It’s the Chicago way.

Mind you..when the little weasel was worried about his safety..he fled to Africa...now that his ‘Dear Leader’ is prez...he is thumbing his nose at justice.

Has Fitz been fired yet?
