President-elect Barack Obama says there can't be any "idle hands" at a time when so many people are enduring hardships.
During a visit to an emergency homeless shelter for teens in the nation's capital, Obama said that given the "crisis" the nation is facing, "everybody's going to have to pitch in." And he said Americans are "ready to do that."

Yes they do.And I am about ready to shrug myself.
Well said, for a socialist.
What’s next? Forced volunteerism?
“emergency homeless shelter for teens “
Why is there an emergency homeless shelter for teens in DC Obamachev? Maybe if their daddies were more responsible....?
Maybe I’ll just evolve out of his new Environmental Pressures.
It was -16 in Hell, Michigan last week. Just sayin’!
As for me, 28 years, so far, in the military, 10 years as a Girl Scout leader, and years of volunteering with my church and my kids’ schools should be sufficient.
That's very true. In rural "conservative" America, everyone 'pitches in' somewhere, whether it be through their churches, community clubs, 4H club, schools, and other local charities.
If big city leftist loons would get off their lard padded butts and get involved in their communities even on 1/10th of the scale found in rural America, they wouldn't have such high crime, youth running in gangs, pimps and crack whores ruining neighborhoods, and all the other problems the moral decay brought on because of societal break down brings. Instead, they sit with their hand out waiting for "government" to come and do something for them and solve all the problems their disconnect with the community and moral decay causes.
Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
And dont sleep on these two, either.
My response? When Hell freezes over. If BO proves he’s eligible for the office by producing that birth certificate maybe I’ll consider it. Until then my allegiance is to the constitution not some Kenyan usurper!
You should have asked them to describe what "change" Obama is going to make and how it will make things all better.
“President Elect Obama did a good thing. Its about time the HOMELESS people in America he was talking to started pitching in. Give the guy a chance. HE IS the President....get over it.”
May I ask you what it is that you are referring to?
What is the ‘good thing’ that P-EO did?
Where did my post refer or have to do with homeless?
Yes, he WILL be the President.
What did I say that indicates that I need to “get over” something? (survived much but nothing compared to many who have survived more and certainly nothing to those who didn’t)
I of course, could be mistaken in the interpretation of your reply post.
Collective farming, with Stalin type quota's that MUST be delivered to Stalin-like government silos, even if the farmer has nothing left to feed his familly or his animals.
With banks not lending, and commodity prices at 50 year lows, there may not be much farming going on this year. Next year Obama will own all the abandoned farmland, on which he will force everyone (white) to "pitch in" on.
Sorry Hussein, but some of us will be working to pay for those tax increases. Anyhow, one hell of a lot of your voters have a quite a bit of free time on their hands, haven’t they!
Yep! Born and raised.
Titan II crew, Minuteman crew and Maintenance then Safety before it's demise.
F*&k you Hussein. Come make me.
Hey, as long as obami can get all the lemmings who voted for him to do the "pitchin' in", it may work out alright...
My son grabbed the movie of "Animal Farm" at the library yesterday, not fully knowing what it was about. As we watched it last night, I could see the questions in my sons' eyes and when we took a short break, I explained it in more depth. It didn't take much for them to understand. Orwell was dead-on in 1945 and we saw what happened, yet too many uninformed, uneducated sheeple exist to prevent the spread of this plague once again.
well lets see: I work, clean my house, grocery shop, cook 7 nights a week, three loads of laundry a day, help my three kids with homework, coach cheerleading, shlep kids around to their extra curricular activities, and take care of my elderly blind mother. My husband works 7 days a week dawn to dark, plows snow after that and takes care of his elderly handicapped parent......nope....no idle time here....sorry a-hole, con someone else!
When I have delicately tried to ask that question, people indicate he will be good for minorities etc. by targeting programs to them.
I don’t think they realize that a president has to be president of all the people.
