Perhaps it is all a gigantic head fake. Maybe President-elect Obama is going to dash Left as soon as he utters the words So help me God next week. But so far, there seems to be the most astounding and sweeping repudiation of a presidents own base of support in the offing since

Centrism... LOL. Even Bush has veered far to the left recently. Obama is anything but centrist. This whole nations has slipped so far left since decades, that someone like Obamarx passes as centrist?

If he didn’t become a raging lefty and did move to the center, then I would bless him if only because I love this country so much that I want it to thrive irrespective of who is in power.
However I don’t think he’s centrist, just a political prostitute has set a new standard.

Yeah, just like Clintoon's centrism drove the GOP out of business after 1992.
Oops, wait, it didn't. The GOP took control of both houses in 1994. What gives?

I think Obama realizes that he is such a huge celebrity and novelty that he can govern any way he likes and he will be re-elected.
If he governs to the right, he will pick up enough conservative votes to add to those he got this last time around, and retain all the libs who got all excited about voting for skin color last time and the yellow dog dems. At the same time he will effectively eliminate any apparent need for a new RINO president ala what McCain and others called for recently. Who needs Chuck Hagel or whoever if Obama is doing enough to please conservatives who don't come to FR but who thought they'd give this guy a shot?

The RINOcrat party, formerly made up of republicans, is a self inflicted wound. Everything they have “accomplished” is through pure stupidity.

Actually I would not mind seeing the present GOP/RINO party go the same way as the Whig party.
We need a political party that espouses conservative positions - not another group that advocates a headlong dash towards Godless socialism - but just at a slightly slower speed than the Dems...

The thing to remember here is the necons are cozzying up to Obama. That’s all you need to know. Pajamas is invested with neocons.

[0bama will] end up where Bush is with the choice of using force or acquiescing to the idea of a nuclear Iran. And THAT is a fact. No amount of flowery orations on the necessity to get along without Iran as a nuclear power is going to convince them to stop enriching uranium.
