I like Pat Buchanan. I do. He's wise, funny and charming. But every once in a while . . .
Like tonight. If Buchanan wants to criticize Israel's conduct of the current war, and its treatment of the Palestinians, so be it. But in doing so, is it really necessary to employ terms associated with the Nazis? Appearing on "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," Buchanan accused Israel of carrying out a "blitzkrieg" against Gaza and turning it into a "concentration camp."

While I didn’t support him, back in ‘96 I defended him against those anti-semitism charges. He continues to make me regret doing so.

Buchanan puts the “dick” in “predictable”.
Just quoting a spokesman for the Vatican.
Pity
He fell out of a guard tower.
I worked on Buchanon’s campaign in 96
The local campaing efforts were taken over, without permission I might add, by someone who was a David Duke supporter
I was stunned that when I reported it to several other persons in the area that they said that David Duke was an okay guy
I reported it to the state coordinator who almost had a heart attack
Since then, racism and anti-semitism has always been on my mind when I hear of Buchanon, not because of him, but because he attracts people like that
but this time, to say this?
Pat is officially a nazi.
As I’ve said before, this business of equating Israel with the Nazis is a form of Holocaust denial. If Gaza = Auschwitz, then the Holocaust no longer has any meaning.
Of course, coming from Pat, it’s no surprise at all.
Has Pat been right about anything? I mean on purpose and not by accident.
Exactly right. Just when you think he's back on his meds he starts babbling inanities like this while blowing bubbles in his own drool.
“Pat Robertson, Newt Gingrich, Pat Buchanan. There is a pattern here. These people fall asleep next to the wrong vegetable:”
Add to this list Billy Graham who said that he thought Hillary Clinton would make a good president . . . this coming from a “moral leader” about someone who stole over $100,000 property from the White House, destroyed the career of numerous civil employees, looted the office of a dead man, obstructed justice, and Lord knows what else she did.
I’ve lost all respect for Mr. Graham . . . he’s worthless as a moral leader . . . on par with Jessie Jackson and Sharpton.
Why doesn’t Buchanan go join Hamas? Or book a ticket on Cynthia McKinney’s Peace Boat?
Zactly.
The old man is a bitter loon, left out in the cold by the W administration.
Why does a person’s critical position regarding Israel automatically make them anti-semitic? Do you support gay marriage? If not then I guess you are homophobic, right?
I have read this quote from Buchanan before, and just as then I am again forced to wonder just what he said that was so awful. Of course Hitler had a genius for manipulation and seeing how to motivate people and how best to take advantage of them. Why do people think recognizing this means that one also agrees with what Hitler did or believed?
This is applicable in the middle east today. Paper tiger, anyone? Bin Laden would have given us much more respect had we wiped-out portions of Afganistan, making them uninhabitable for many years.
This foe (a foe of Israel too) will require a regular knocking back on it's heels for some time. Displaying no weakness or mushiness will be interpreted as strength, as it should be. Pat's theory makes sense, his bias doesn't.
Put Buchanan and Blo’Reilly in the same room and the joint would blow up.........hot gas explosion. I can’t stand either one of those pompous arseholes.
