AN AWFUL PICK
New York Post ^ | January 7, 2009 | Ralph Peters

WOULD you ask your accountant to perform brain surgery on your child? That's the closest analogy I can find to the choice of Democratic Party hack Leon Panetta to head the CIA.

Earth to President-elect Obama: Intelligence is serious. And infernally complicated. When we politicize it - as we have for 16 years - we get 9/11. Or, yes, Iraq.

The extreme left, to which Panetta's nomination panders, howled that Bush and Cheney corrupted the intelligence system. Well, I worked in the intel world in the mid 1990s and saw how the Clinton team undermined the system's integrity.

Al Qaeda a serious threat? The Clinton White House didn't want to hear it. Clinton was the pioneer in corrupting intelligence. Bush was just a follow-on homesteader.

Now we've fallen so low that left-wing cadres can applaud the nomination of a CIA chief whose sole qualification is that he's a party loyalist, untainted by experience.

The director's job at the CIA isn't a party favor. This is potentially a matter of life and death for thousands of Americans. But the choice of Panetta tells us all that Barack Obama doesn't take intelligence seriously.

Mark my words: It'll bite him in the butt.

After the military, the intel community is the most complex arm of government. You can't do on-the-job training at the top. While a CIA boss needn't be a career intelligence professional, he or she does need a deep familiarity with the purposes, capabilities, limitations and intricacies of intelligence.

Oh, and you'd better understand the intelligence bureaucracy.

Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), who was blindsided - and appalled - by the Obama mafia's choice, has the essential knowledge of how the system works. She, or a similar expert, should have gotten this nod.

Bad choice. What do the Clintons have on Obama? His original birth certificate? I recall the very private meeting between Hillary and Obama.

You can't do on-the-job training at the top.

And yet this is exactly what the liberal media expects BHO to be able to do!

“What do the Clintons have on Obama? His original birth certificate?”

#####

Whether they have it or not, The Zero has yet to produce it.

However, Republicans, across the board, have the balls of an infant flea, and thus refuse to hold his feet to the fire.

So Conservatives by default, may benefit after all from the cut-throat, festering sores known as the Clintons.

Maybe they have proof that Larry Sinclair isn’t lying. That would be enough, I would think. Or perhaps they have the records from a certain Kenyan hospital. Never misunderestimate the Clintons.

Dennis Blair

arrogant renegade-policy making retired Admiral
USN’s answer to Weasley Clark
He is the new DCI

My theory- Dennis Blair (who someone in the inexperienced, naive pinhead academic Obama mentor pool is impressed by) wanted to be in charge of US intelligence reaching Obama- he convinced these naive inexperienced people that they want no dissent or strong voice from or for CIA, that the primary role of the new CIA director should be bureaucratic “reform”

Mark my words, Leon Panetta is going to be pursuing lawsuits against former CIA agents for “interrogation abuse” and setting up new agency offices to monitor “gobal warming” when the shiite hits the fan and Americans die in large numbers in another terrorist attack on another American airliner, city or embassy

The perfect Rat pick.

Keep in mind the Rat purpose is to completely neuter the CIA because of the "evil" manner in which the patriot factions in the agency expose America's enemies. Rats want "intelligence" managed to bolster socialist propaganda, not protect the nation.

At least Harriet Meirs was a lawyer..........What has Panetta ever done even remotely connected with Foreign Intelligence? Was he ever a chair or member of a intel committee?.......

The left’s present to the American public of a potential nuclear 9/11 may be the result of selecting “intel” chiefs based upon politics rather than experience/ability. Should it occur, the MSM will attempt to pin it on Bush. A result of the hatred his administration engendered, don’t you know. But the majority of folks won’t buy it. We’ve had no attacks for the past 7 years and that is the record which will matter.

Like in the days of the USSR every military unit had a Political Commissar to make sure that the officers and men were “correct” politically. Same thing here, just on a grander scale.

My pick for DCI: Dick Cheney. That smirk alone should have would-be terrorists shaking in their boots. Swinging that 28 Ga. Perazzi at their nuts might help.

Panetta and Lynn will have to report to Obama’s national intel chief, Ret. Admir. Dennis Blair who’s previous gig was staff member at the Council on Foreign Relations.

How convenient!
