Burris also blamed his string of primary election defeats on "Democrat racism":
He told the historically black newspaper the Chicago Defender that he aspired to "be out there to find someone to put in the pipeline like Barack Obama who might be able to 20 years from now get into a position to become governor." Burris added: "It's how the party apparatus operates when they get their voters out," Burris said. "If I ever get to a general election, it wouldn't be that way. Some of it could be race in the primary, but it's not race in the general election. If I ever get out of the primary, I could really have a shot at it in the general election. I see that as a control vote situation where Blagojevich had the troops and the dollars and was able to get enough people to the polls." said Burris in 2002

It woudl be really funny if Burris is rejected, and then names Oprah. Then, they'd reject her, and then he could name Richie Daley, and just for kicks, he could name Michele Obama!

Hey, maybe some columnist should propose that Obambi and Burris switch places!!! Burris is more qualified to be POTUS — let Obambi return to the Senate!!! (I know, if Obambi resigned then Biden would be in line, but it’s fun to think of the Demagogues in musical offices)

I can only understand about every third word this guy is saying so I’m afraid I can’t be much help. It’s some congressman from IL saying Burris should get the seat, I believe because he is African American.
Watching the news conf live...Bobby Rush AA-Chicago is rambling along in very slurred speach, that this is a BLACK Senate seat, started BLACK by PEOBAMBA...so it MUST be seated as a black seat, “whatever it may takes”...Roland Burris stands head and shoulders above most other politicians in this country, says Bubbly Rush...NO senator must deny this BLACK SEAT to the Senate, will go to BLACK Caucus and Dickie DUrbin who’s a FREN’ of mine...
