Activists trying to bring aid to Gaza today claimed their boat had been rammed by Israeli gunboats in a "criminal attack" in international waters.
The Free Gaza Movement said its vessel, the Dignity, was intercepted by several Israeli vessels as it was heading to the Gaza Strip, which has been under Israeli aerial bombardment since Saturday.
One gunboat rammed the Dignity on the port bow side, causing heavy damage, although no one was hurt, the group said.
"[The Dignity] is taking on water and appears to have engine problems," the movement said on its website. "When attacked, the Dignity was clearly in international waters, 90 miles off the coast of Gaza.
"The gunboats also fired their machine guns into the water in an attempt to stop the mercy ship from getting to Gaza.
"Israel thumbs its nose in the face of maritime law by attacking a human rights boat in international waters and has put all of these human rights observers at risk.
"At no time was the Dignity ever close to Israeli waters. They clearly identified themselves and the Israeli attack was willful and criminal."
The group said the attack took place as the Dignity carried three tonnes of medical supplies at the request of doctors in Gaza.
The crew and passengers were hoping to treat some of those injured in four days of the Israeli air strikes, with hospitals in the territory overwhelmed.
The Dignity is still in international waters, 40 miles off Haifa, and is making its way slowly to Lebanon. The ship flies the flag of Gibraltar, is piloted by an English captain and its passenger list includes Cynthia McKinney, a former US congresswoman.

You can buy pizza for troops
They smell Russian to me.
Yikes! That’s one scary woman. I’d definitely hit it...with an Israeli gunboat.
She is the gift that keeps on giving.
Are you equating the former Congresswoman with a fuzzy hoe?
The nerve!
(heh heh heh)
from Wikipedia:
Paul Watson (born December 2, 1950) is the founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and a significant figure in the environmental movement and animal rights movement. He was named by Time Magazine in 2000 as one of its Environmental Heroes of the 20th Century.[1]
-—snip-—
In 1977, Watson was expelled from the Greenpeace’s board of directors by a vote of 11 to 1 (Watson himself cast the single vote against it). The group felt his strong, “front and center” personality and frequently voiced opposition to Greenpeace’s interpretation of “nonviolence” were too divisive. Watson subsequently left the group. The group has since labeled his actions at the time as those of a “mutineer” within their ranks. That same year, he founded his own group, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
They’ll have to ride her hair to shore!
ROTFLMAO
My New Year’s resolution—I am going to learn to photoshop and post pics!
WHAT? Israel didn't blow it out of the water?
Shame on them.
Time magazine? Hero?
Ping ping ping.
Greenpeace kicked him out? BWAHAHA That pretty much sums it up.
and that’s what’s wrong with this story imo. If Israel had wanted to sink this boat they would have done so and mz Cindy would be under arrest.
If it happened as the “dignity” crew reported they would have it on video since this was an attention seeking cruise.
LOL!
I assume McKinney’s hair doubles as a flotation device.
“Typical Liberal puke on the wrong side of any war. All Liberals and the media side with Americas enemies. Now, thats something to be proud, dont ya think?’
I don’t think they consider themselves to be Americans.
They just use and abuse America and take advantage of
her.
NICE
