Egyptian border guards have opened fire on Palestinians who breached the border to escape Israel's assault on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
An Egyptian security official said there were at least five breaches along the nine-mile border and hundreds of Palestinian residents were pouring in.
At least 300 Egyptian border guards have been rushed to the area to reseal the border, the official added on condition on anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the press.
A resident of the Gaza Strip side of the border, Fida Kishta, said that Egyptian border guards opened fire to drive back the Palestinians.

Wow. Like rats caught in between the cat and the surging sewer water.
Can we hire some of these Egyptians and point them south?
Don’t suppose that Amnesty International, The U.N. and the rest of the “Human Rights” crowd will even bother to notice, much less, condemn, that action.
Guess Mubarak finally decided not to let Hamas invade HIS turf.
You guys buttered your bread, so now sleep in it.
Keep Out: Trespassers Will Be Shot On Sight
But...but...but...all muslims LOVE and GRIEVE for their fellow muslims (the Palestinians)persecuted in Gaza by the evil jooooooooooooz and they would do ANYTHING to help out their fellow brothers!! Obviously Israel is trying to spread vicous propaganda about Egypt with this story!!!

Good.
No one wants the Palestinians. Jordan kicked ‘em out last time, now Egypt’s joining the bandwagon.
Israel and Egypt seem to understand the importance of defending their borders. What’s up with us?
So much for their concern for the “plight” of the Palestinians. The dirty little secret the either doesn’t know or doesn’t want to admit is that the Arab world has little use for the Palestinians too.
I would think that not all Palestinians are into the political struggle.
There must me some apolitical Palestinians who just want to live in peace and are just trying to escape the bombs and missles.
From that standpoint, it’s wrong to make light of people dying, don’t you think?
Be careful about “dehumanizing” the Palestinian refugees.
I am no supporter of the enemies of Israel, but we do live in a world where transgressions such as the above post will be used in the Propaganda Wars.
Didn’t Egypt just condemn Israel for shooting at gaza palis?
Open season on Pali’s? Jimmy Carter will be deeply saddened.
Now that’s a interesting way to “handle” illegal border incursions!
I concur.
There are a lot of reactionary posters around here lately.
IMO, it’s time for another Bug Zapper thread.
It is quite sad, actually, that the nomads squatting in Gaza and the West Bank drove their neighbors to this.
Hammer, meet anvil.
