CHICAGO An attorney for the Illinois governor has asked the legislative committee considering whether to impeach the governor to subpoena President-elect Barack Obama's incoming chief of staff and a senior adviser. Ed Genson told the Chicago Sun-Times for a report published on Thursday that testimony from Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett and Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. would help Gov. Rod Blagojevich's claim that he did nothing wrong in trying to fill Obama's vacant Senate seat. Jackson, possibly "Senate Candidate 5" in federal court documents in the case, has said he did not try to cut a pay-to-play deal with Blagojevich to succeed Obama in the Senate. Messages left for Genson, the Obama transition team and Jackson were not returned to the Associated Press on Thursday. Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 and charged with allegedly trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder. He has denied any wrongdoing.

The Chicago crime syndicate moves to DC.
Somebody’s going to wind up dead before this is all over. It’s the Chicago way.
Ha! A not-so-subtle threat. Make a sweet deal with me, or the Messiah takes a torpedo. You wouldn’t want to be the man who ruined the Messiah’s coronation, would you?

There is no way these guys can testify without incriminating themselves or Obama. My guess is somehow they will granted a way out of the subpoena’s. Either that or they will use the fifth amendment.

Fifth amendment is not conducive to advancing political careers.
Why can’t Blago’s lawyer subpoena them himself?
I know McCain was not perfect, but I am most sure we would not have this problem with him.
Thanks

End result: NO ONE did ANYTHING wrong.
My Dad, who was a yeast salesman in Chicago during prohibition, had hundreds of stories to tell of the mafia and politics in Chicago back then.
The "Chicago way" refers to all that history!
Sure did’nt take long for the smell from the sewer to start following “The One”.
Blago’s life expectancy is getting shorter.
Why was Blago arrested on a complaint rather than being indicted by a Grand Jury? I read it was to protect the integrity of the selection process for Obama’s replacement. Is an indictment forthcoming?
