LOL!! I see that! I will say this:

Free Republic took Allen’s campaign to another level. Many FReepers donated money to his campaign when no one else was paying attention. And the blogs picked up on his campaign after us FReepers got behind him.

I’ll be pleasantly watching from the sidelines.... but hopefully some of my new endeavors can help out his campaign and many others around the country.

By the way, my boss, Ken Boehm, was the guy in Philly that had a conservative radio show that Mark Levin would call in to when he was a teenager. Small world..... ;-)

Thanx!! I’m working around the clock 7 days a week lately, which is why I haven’t been on FR much. But I love the job.... it’s a dream job actually, so it’s all worth it! :-)

I can only imagine! I hope things settle down for you though, because you are missed on here, for sure! (don’t they understand how important FReeping is? *L*)

But, FYI, I was told by someone well connected in the Palm Beach County GOP that Lt. Col. West had refused help from campaign pros and that area Republicans thought that he didn’t stand a chance, which is why they concentrated their support on Representative-elect Rooney instead.

i don't mean to be a jerk - but if the gop thought he did not stand a chance, they were wrong (since he got 46%) - if west did reject help from these 'pros', it seemed a wise choice on his part

we tried the rino-reach-across-the-aisle route in the last election and it did not work out so well - we need visible leadership that will speak up and ruffle feathers if necessary to get out a conservative message and force coverage of the democrat scandals and failed ideas (i don't care if they have to stand nekkid on the steps of congress to get that coverage)

we have 2 years to have our internal fight in the gop - i am standing on the team with west

I do wish West well, as he polled 45% in the last election. However, if the current incumbent runs for the U.S. Senate, West may have primary competition.

I wholeheartedly agree that the GOP was wrong not to support West more prominently. My point was that the reason for the FL GOP concentrating on Rooney and ignoring West was because the party thought that West didn’t stand a chance (partly because the district leans Democrat, and partly because he wasn’t following the party’s advice). In hindsight, Rooney won easily and West proved that he was a very competitive candidate, so the GOP was obviously boneheaded to act as it did. I think the FL GOP will support West this time, especially if Klein runs for the Senate (making it an open seat, which the GOP will see as a more winnable target).

I can’t afford much, but when the time comes, I’ll gladly pitch in a few bucks toward his campaign.

If it’s an open seat with money and a not-bad year for the GOP I’d call the race a tossup.

He needs to be anointed in the primary (no honkies ;p ).

Mike Duncan, Mitch McConnell, and John Boehner are laying the blame all on Bush. They claim that Bush was a bully in pushing the bail out, amnesty, and other big spending programs. Without Bush to bully them around, they figure the GOP can rebound. Duncan is touting Saxby’s re-election and the two LA House races as reasons for re-electing him as RNC Chair.
