I'm so proud of our President. Had the opportunity to see him a couple of times and will always treasure the memories.
That said, I surely do wish he would go ahead and pardon or commute Ramos and Compeon, border guards protecting us from a drug dealer who is now serving less time than are they!

Where did the time go? It went so fast. For 8 years , with President Bush in the White House, I could rest peacefully at night, knowing that someone responsible, honest, brave, and American was in the Oval Office. We are sure going to miss him. By the way... hair color works well for gray hair.

Conservatives have no one to blame but ourselves. Too lazy to campaign and work for conservatives and really get a ground level movement running. Thus, all the anger is at Daddy. Its time to compete with the energy of the left which mounted an effective grassroots campaign and got Obama into the white house. We can whine about how this all turned out, but the conservatives have become fat, lazy and now are shocked. Look to congress , the president cant do much when conservatives have betrayed him time and again..
Really. So we are all at fault for Bush's massive spending bills. For his kissing Ted Kennedy's fat ass on the education bill; for his stupidity of thinking he could "reach across the isle" when the left has absolutely NO want or reason to do so and WE as you call us, all know that. YOU may have failed. YOU may have sat on your fat ass and DID NOTHING, but a lot of us not only used our voices here, but did it also with emails, calls and personal visits to our congress reps. MAYBE YOU sat on your ass and failed Bush, but BUSH FAILED US. Take out the war effort. He failed badly. He FAILED to close the borders. He SPENT like a drunk needing another beer. He FAILED all these things, and YOU may have failed him by not kissing up, but I DID NOT. Don't blame me, or anyone else FOR YOUR FAILURES. Don't drag me into YOUR failures. HE FAILED conservatives time and time and time and time and time again. I did not fail him. I VOTED for him twice. I HAD HOPE that he was going to clean up our country after eight years of the Klinton Gestapo. I thought he would be a leader on all fronts. He was not. What I DID DO, was lose confidence in him to lead. While he did well on the war effort, he failed badly on other efforts.

Do I agree with many of his policies? No.
Does he infuriate me with some of his decisions, many of which are the antithesis of conservatism? Yes.
But do I like Bush the man, the person, and wish him and his family all the best? YES.
Have a safe trip, Mr. Bush. Merry Christmas.

The president campaigned on the education bill. If you didn't want one, you should have voted for Gore or one of the third party losers. President Bush has been an excellent president, but then, I don't have the delusional idea that everything I want will be granted by any president. If you wonder why conservatives are wandering around in the wilderness, perhaps you should take a look at your attitude. If conservatives had stuck with him during Katrina and Harriet Meiers and Dubai Ports, perhaps he would have had the political clout to accomplish more on paring spending. Of course, working with a recalcitrant Congress probably would not have made that possible...and in case you don't know this, let me explain to you that the President proposes budgets, but it is the HOUSE which actually does the spending. I didn't notice many of them trying to pare those budgets down. Frankly, I know I am wasting time talking to you and your confederates, but I write this response mainly for those who will read this thread. President Bush will eventually be hailed as the great president he has been, and I thnk God we have had him for these last 8 years.

At least our President still has his Hair. Have you noticed that Obama’s hair is turning gray and thinning really bad? And speaking of hair does Blago wear a wig... or does his hair just look like a really bad wig?

bert: There are too many that bitch and moan and then have their coffee and feel good about being active. So true.
FR may in fact be more detrimental to the conservative cause than we can imagine.
I'm beginning to think it's entirely possible that FR reduces the possibility of a winning conservative coalition more each day by encouraging infighting among the conservative factions, and letting the Dems roll the country unopposed.
Would we have elected someone who promised to allow 12 million abortions during 8 yrs, promised to cut and run from Lebanon, sell arms to the Iranians, and keep the Federal Govt involved in public schools if FR was around in 1984? Someone like Ronald Reagan?
