It is still up to the people to vote for the change ... unless there’s fraud in the vote then all bets are off ....

Good, get it over with. Time to wipe away the last official artifact of a valid government. CWII.

Any new constitution would need to be ratified by the states before it could take effect.

Indeed ... whatever they do must first be ratified.

Good, we can do away with that pesky Bill of Rights, recognize the President Can Do No Wrong, and revoke the ability of the Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of acts.

You know the Left will come up with a wish list. Its any one's guess what a new Constitution would look like.

Time for a new Revolution.
People need to stand up and fight.

Well, we’ll just have to get our people in there, won’t we?

The Constitutional Convention can only propose amendments to the Constitution. They COULD propose an “amendment” that repeals the entire Constitution and replaces it with a new Constitution, but that would still require approval by two-thirds of both houses and ratification by three-fourths of the state legislatures. That AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN.
To: Richard_ Saunders_2000
Would this new constitution also be a “living, breathing document” like the current one?
It is ironic that ‘living, breathing” really means dead.

It would then be up to the people to act in order to prevent the wholesale loss of our rights.

DeWeese then listed some of the states whose legislatures already have issued a call: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. I want to see the proof.

No big deal! Do you really think our honorable leaders will pay any more attention to the new constitution than they pay to the old one?
To: Richard_ Saunders_2000
It just gets scarier and scarier.
To: Richard_ Saunders_2000
So we would be replacing a constitution written by the best minds of our nation, with one written by the worst.

When did thes States issue votes calling for a Convention, and how long is that vote valid? IOW: If Texas issued a call for a convention in 1981, is that vote calling for a convention still valid, even though many/most of those who voted for it are gone?
