Mitt Romney on the Media (NRO cruise video)

Mitt Romney on the Media (NRO cruise video)

Mitt Romney and Brent Bozell discuss what to do about the MSM. Brent cites figures which show the MSM is dying (but this past election shows the dying dinosaur isn't dead yet). Mitt has some great one liners and a good assessment of what conservatives need to do.

Whoever is going up against Obama in 2012 whether it is Romney/Jindal/Palin or someone not on our radar yet they have to be able to effectively address, counter and deal with the media.

More Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson videos from the NRO cruise here. http://wordpress.redstate.com/dave_in_fla/2008/11/16/if-we-are-going-to-have-a-nuclear-holocaust-3/

And an oldie but goodie when as Gov. of Mass. Mitt gives the media the smackdown. The whining reporter claims "I represent the people". Mitt replies, "No I represent the people, you represent the media".

It seems to cause no problems among the Dems!

If an attractive likely-to-win Republican candidate shows more conservative tendancies than liberal, then rank and file conservative voters should give him or her a chance.... and not morph into this "he's not 100% perfect" attitude which I believe was exhibited during the 2008 GOP primaries.

There is something to be said for the concept of that "I'd rather have 85% of something than 100% of nothing."

California Republicans perhaps took that a little too far when it nominated Arnold Schwartzeneger ... but that should be seen as an abboration due to it being California.

>>>I'd rather have 85% of something than 100% of nothing

When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn’t like it. “Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn’t face the fact that we couldn’t get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don’t get it all, some said, don’t take anything. I’d learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’ If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that’s what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.“ Ronald Reagan

You must feel really threatened by Romney, keep it up. I like it when people like you point out what a threat he is. He is so powerful! Everytime you go ballistic over Mitt it means he is gaining power!!!! Go Mitt, go!!!! I can’t wait until he wins the nomination in 2012. Mitt will be the next President of the United States!

America has already been hurt by Mitt Romney and his
cultists such as yourself. Eager to destroy Gov.Palin
and her children, YOU (plural) attacked even through
Election2008. You and Romney are partially responsible
for Obama as President-select. You must be happy
except for the fact that you have now been 'outed'.

First of all, I am not a cultist. I don’t keep up with Romney other then when I am pinged something about him. Secondly, I have never attacked Palin’s children, only stated my opinion that she was neglecting her baby by having a full time career, which is a problematic contradiction coming from someone who claims to be such a conservative. That’s not an attack on the child, it’s attack on Palin. I only really stated my opinion after the election. I might have mentioned it shortly before only because of all the worshipping going on for Palin. I only stated an opinion, you are the one who is eager to destroy Mitt Romney. The way I look at it, Palin hurt the Republican chances by claiming to be a reformer yet talking full advantage of every perk that ever came her way. I haven’t said a word about Palin in at least a few weeks. Your eagerness to destroy Mitt has been relentless. I blame Republican’s who think it is ok to have double standards. That’s a form of hypocrisy. Pretty soon double standards and being a hypocrite have a way of catching up with people. That’s why the opposition won, it has nothing to do with me not worshipping Palin. She is a human being, not a God. McCain selected her to be his running mate. She was extremly fortunate to be given such a gift. She was not qualified. Ronald Reagan was a great communicator, Palin is not. She can’t express a coherent point unless it is a talking point that she has memorized. Right there that should tell you something. She isn’t inspired by God. She has used her looks to get ahead. She has governed a state that is very wealthy. Alaska’s oil wealth has nothing to do with Palin. I hate to see people get so deluded. The lady is way over-rated and a power hungry backstabber. She has used her looks to get elected. Anyone can deliver talking points they have memorized. This is the reason why Obama won, unfortunately, because the people who were supposed to be his opposition have lost it. There is nothing hateful in what I said about Palin. I am a fairly decent person. I didn’t cause John McCain to lose the election, I kept my opnion about Palin to myself and I voted for McCain. You are just trying to make sure that Romney is destroyed so that he will not threaten the chances of whoever you have already selected. In case you haven’t noticed, this is the United States and we have elections. Why the heck do you resort to such tactics of trying to completely destroy Romney? I don’t know everything. Maybe you are right, maybe Romney is a rat. If it is true, in time I will know it. Meanwhile, I’m not worshipping Palin. It’s my right as a human being. I could be wrong about Palin. So what? In time, if it is true, God will show me. In the meantime, calm down. You need to get some perspective.

RomneyBOT anti-Palin Attack Squad: "(Gov.Palin) The lady is way over-rated and a power hungry backstabber"

The Real Deal (ignoring Romney's incompetence)

Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney

Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?

Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?

Romney Supporters Trashing Palin

Romney advisors sniping at Palin?

Novak: Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign

Said Novak: The rumors were "traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Romney) lost Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

I am not a Romney Bot, it is very derogatory that you can call names like that. I am not part of any anti-Palin attack squad, that is another derogatory, dehumanizing way of talking to someone one. It’s not right the way you communicate with people.

I don’t know how many times I’ve told Rombotts that Mitt would of profited immensely from being a town selectman for four years, or a stint in the military, and especially for him, as an enlisted.

He’s lived too isolated a life.
The Mormon experience is one of distance from the main culture.
Harvard Law and Finance are, in general, distancing experiences.
Mitt getting out and about, doesn’t help him. Yeah, the GOP policy wonks all like him, but they have one vote each, and frankly, even amongst Republicans, basically, no one reads the NR, Weekly Standard.

Palin has it. She might not have much more, but she has that popular ‘it’, something Mitt, or anyone, can not buy or fake.

You get the feeling that Palin is a fighter. That she gets mad. I don’t get that about Mitt. Other than Mitt, I don’t know what Mitt is fighting for. I don’t know what Mitt’s ‘Big Cause’ is. Palin has leadership, Mitt has management. Palin generates passion, Mitt does checkbook.
Palin has instinct, Mitt has polls. Palin is a life long hunter, Mitt shot a gopher, maybe, once. Palin’s kid is in Iraq, Mitt’s go to Harvard and hand out sandwiches on the campaign bus. Palin’s speaking has her own distinct personality, Mitt makes you sleep. Plain has and is a roll up your sleeves, who you talking to Governor, Mitt was a committee guy Governor.

It’s done for Mitt. He either must not hire brutally frank advisers, or he won’t listen, which, experiencing the fanaticism of his minions, isn’t surprising.

The ongoing, highly personal attacks on Mitt Romney on this thread demonstrate many would prefer to die of a ‘theory’ than actually win an election cycle.

The plain fact is on September 15th of this year, we Conservatives would have been better served had Romney been the nominee, and was the man that offered his opinion on the economic crisis then we were with McCain’s knee jerk, ill informed ‘Fire Chris Cox at SEC, and end Earmarks!’ incoherent RANT.

Well, those of you that hate Romney for whatever reason, you got what you wanted.

Don’t complain the next four years.
