People will now be able to carry concealed weapons in some national parks and wildlife refuges.

You would think that since I was in on this from the beginning I’d know what is says too, but I have been out of the loop for almost a year.
Excellent. Kudo’s to all those who contributed time and effort to this!
Yet. With Heller in our corner now, we should be able to eviscerate those other idiotic restrictions on a case by case basis.
Got mine back today after waiting exactly 3 months and 1 day. I was without one for almost two months. They are supposed to have a turn around time of 45 days or less according to statute.
If any other Texans are having similar issues, please contact the Texas State Rifle Association at 972 889-8772.
This issue will be addressed in the upcoming legislative session, and they can always use more examples of delays.
Anyone have a favorite(s)?
That stinks!
Here, Austin is blaming it on a rush of new applicants and the relatively low pay of state workers. Supposedly, they can’t fill enough positions, so they have even been bringing in temp workers. Personally, I don’t like the idea of temp workers having access to very personal information. But the delays have been going on for years. In any case, I’m good now ‘til 2013. Woohoo!
That sucks.
If I want to carry in the Grand Canyon I'd better do it before Jan 20, when Obama is sure to have this policy reversed.
Thanks
Ruger Single-Sixes are fun.
Thanks. I think I might try one of their semis.
And not just in the National Parks, either. Holder will probably seize the membership rosters of the gun orgs like NRA & GOA and then the subscription lists for the gun mags. That'll be his base list of terrorist groups that disseminate treasonous information.
EXCELLENT news regarding rest oration of a God-given natural right, that you should be able to defend yourself anywhere.
If you do, you might be interested in one of these.

When is this regulation effective?
... I won’t register, license or turn in any firearm or ammunition or other related accessories that I purchased legally with money I earned thru hard work in the light of day in these United States of America. Never.
.....Obambi the arab slaver can kiss ole brown spot for all I care.
He is a precedent, not a President. America has been punked !
So, if a 'national' park extends into any 'Brady' state, the victory is hollow.(correct me if I'm wrong)
Would Plaxico Burress have been better off shootimg himself in the leg in Yosemite Valley than at a club in NYC? Answer: No, neither state recognizes the second ammendment. Both reject the wisdom behind it's inclusion in the Bill of Rights and have no intention of respecting the Union, rejecting the limits it places on the states, and doing so in the aged-old fashion of liberal tyrants everwhere- flaunting the 'law'.
As long as national parks don't have blood running in the streets as a result of this new legislation, public apprehension about guns in general may be served well. Anything that pushes the pendulum back toward a more 'well regulated militia' is a good thing. The embarassment that comes with crawling on one's knees to beg the exercise of a God-given right becomes intolerable at times.
Don't know if they still make that one, but revolvers rarely jam, and in a .22, it isn't important that it isn't easily concealed, since it simply is NOT a self defense caliber.
My 6” barrel is (attic raiding squirrel on the roof eyeball at 10 yards) accurate, though it also came in a 3 or 4”, and an 8 or 9”, which got a bit unwieldy for wearing as an anti-pest gun while fishing.
