The chair of the Allegheny County Dems, Jim Burn, has confirmed that Hardballer Chris Matthews has kept in touch with him about where things stand in "the west since the weeks leading up to the Pennsylvania primary.
Chris was very inquisitive about the dynamic here in the west, said Burn, but equally as coy regarding whether or not he would actually run for the U.S. Senate.
Burn said before this year's primary that he and Matthews mostly discussed the presidential race between Senators Clinton and Obama. In fact,

Winning the Senate seat should be an easy walk for Sissy Chrissy. All he has to do is insult PA voters, call them xenophobic, racist, redneck clingers to religion and guns, and then say he is going to destroy the coal industry, and he’s in! A cakewalk for the tingler!
So, who are the other frontrunners in the Pennsylvania Dem organization who can successfully oppose Matthews?
I can’t really think of anyone.
1. At least he isn’t a lawyer.
2. This is just the start of a wave. Franken will inspire tons of entertainment types to get into national politics. They’ll figure that if a complete idiot like Franken can make a run at a senate seat, they’ll have a chance too.
What are the ethics of a journalist seemingly operating as a journalist to pump political operatives for info when he (Matthews) may really be an unannounced candidate for political office?
Will any of the Media question the ethics of using his prominence as a PMSNBC talking head to obtain “inside” info and sensitive political assessments that might not otherwise be offered to the media or to other potential candidates?
It pains me to say it, but Franken isn’t an idiot. He’s smart as Hell, and drug-addled, which just makes him think he’s smarter. He’s dangerous...perhaps more so because people don’t take him seriously.
