Now Coleman needs to pull it off, the GOP needs to block every socialist bill that tries to get pushed through and make Obama a Lame-Duck from day one.

Sad to say, but this is when the GOP is at their best - fighting from a minority position, i.e. the first two years of the Clinton presidency ...leading to a landslide GOP House/Senate victory in 1994.

The problem is they have not learned how to lead. Well, not since Ronald Reagan anyway.

But since I don’t believe they’ll hold 41 Reps together to block the libs doesn’t matter I guess.

With Coleman it will be 42 R's.

That said, yes, on every issue it's hard not to imagine at least three RINO's crossing over to vote with the D's.

I agree, but I do not think for a moment it will happen. McCain won’t press for it, neither will the Bush Admin... I have come to the realization that we are definitely on our own out here : |

Thank you God, and Jim and John for FReeRepublic.

Relax. Martin could get all the remaining votes in Fulton and DeKalb and it still wouldn’t be enough.

—Not if they are up for re-election in 2010 or 2012! They better vote as a block or they will be run off.

With Saxby the winner, I hope we can hold a filibuster on any firearm bans for at least the next two years. I’m sure the gun grabbers will pull a few RINOs, but at the same time I’m sure we could pull two or three dems, but would these dems filibuster to STOP such legislation?

Those Dems know that gun control is a losing issue.

First it is excellent that Chambliss won. I think that this is a good omen for 2010.

IMO, there were a lot of Republicans who voted for Obama or didn't vote at all to teach Bush a lesson. They were probably appalled at the Nov. 4 results and kicking themselves about what they did. Foolishly, they never thought it would make as much a difference as it did.

The people in GA had a chance to make it right and they did. I think Republicans in 2010 who made wrong choices this time will come out to make amends. At least, that's my hope.
