US spies killed in terrorist raid

NEW DELHI: Even though the Indian government has refrained from dragging Islamabad directly into the Mumbai terror attacks, insinuations suggest that diplomatic relations between the two countries may suffer in the aftermath of the attacks.

It is believed that the terrorists identified and then killed two senior US intelligence officers staying at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in his address to the nation, pricked Pakistan thrice without naming it. The security agencies in New Delhi told reporters they suspected the role of Al Qaeda in the attacks. The agencies believed their suspicion arose from the way the terrorists captured Taj hotel and successfully identified two senior US intelligence officials by checking the passports of the foreigners who were staying there, sources said

The SA “commandos” were hired as body-guards for the Indian Premier League cricket players.

You are going to have to do your own research on this. Let’s just say it’s politics.

Clinton gutted black budgets up and down the line. W reestablished them. Remember, Los Alamos changed protocols when something went missing even after W took office and we haven’t heard a peep since the protocols changed. But, China’s in space now, isn’t it, and look who’s in the wings..........

So here we are with turkey while the guys with ears on the ground are, well, listening. Our guys and theirs. The question is, are our guys ‘ours.’

Questionable loyalties, bad apples up for sale with employment applications in someone’s desk and blackberries on speed dial.

This is the world we don’t tell our kids about, nor do we speak acknowledgement to a treasonous press.

If we keep the price of oil down and cut off their funds from the Saudi princes’ royalties that fund them, the Wahabbi and the Madrassas, the Pakis could get them under control.

This doesn't sound believable. Why attack the other 9 sites then. What's the probability of finding 2 people out of a whole big hotel. Why not wait till they were out in the open. This sounds more like a report from a Pakistani news outlet.

Does it say that this was their sole purpose or that the officers were merely caught up in the takeover of that particular hotel?

Does that mean you just made it up?

I heard them interview one of the South Africans on NDTV (looked like any white American guy in 40's or 50's, no British accent). He was telling how they managed to herd about 150 people into a conference room because they couldn't secure the hall (too much glass), but didn't say just how many SA's security were in the group. So they barricaded themselves, then decided they didn't want to be so high in case of more fire, so somehow got them down lower and secured because they had heard most of the action was at the other end of the Taj. They were finally found and released, one a 90-year-old woman, I believe.

So many stories coming out, this was the first I'd heard of this; maybe they want to keep it under the radar.

Also the tragic deaths of the general manager's family found in a bathroom in one of the suites (wife and 2 children), while he was heroically performing his duties, pleaded with the fire department to get them out through the window, but terrorists were holed up in the next room. I had seen that also somewhere else yesterday.

Someone suggested this might be even bigger than we think; maybe they wanted the passports to get into the US and Britain, but still may not be so easy to do, I don't know what they look for now, supposed to contain a chip.

Suggested Americans carry fake passports in another pocket when they go abroad, that might not go over too well. Lots of things flying around out there.

Wish they could flush out those remaining terrorists in the Taj.

I wouldn’t trust this source — we need other confirmation.

This could be jihad propaganda spread to make the attacks seem more acceptable to all the America-haters around the world.....

“ah, you see, they were killing eviiilll American spies, so it really was a military operation” [ignore all the civilians slaughtered, that’s how jihad and leftist agitprop works]

It might or might not be true, but I won’t believe it unless/until it seems better corroborated.

Well, 25 CIA station chiefs have QUIT rather than name names after 1/20/2009.

Do the math.

You've got some excellent stock tips you are sitting on OR there is a typo in your post?

The Indians have a real chance to show the world beyond any doubt that they are a major power. They are, but it needs to be announced to the world.

India must project “boots on the ground” force outside of India to do this.

Done in spectacular style, were I to choose what to do, it would be to commit an entire Indian army light infantry brigade to the Afghanistan border with Pakistan. They would have to be flown in by NATO, that would also have to transport their equipment and supplies.

In a huge irony, the Indian and US forces would act as an “anvil” to the Pakistan army’s “hammer” against militants in Pakistan. The militants would be annihilated, no matter where they went. If anything, we would encourage the PA to push them across the border.

Who gave out this information ?

Gee, I wonder. With whom has President Bush shared intelligence briefings lately that were not privy to them previously?

“then killed two senior US intelligence officers staying at the Taj Mahal Hotel.”

Having been in Mumbai multiple times as a USG employee the best I could do was have the famous high tea at the Taj hotel. The cost for one night was about 3 times per-diem. I question if these were actually USG officials, intelligence or otherwise.

“Probably not hard to figure out, if they are under official cover, then they work at the embassy.”

Actually, the Embassy is in New Delhi. Mumbai has a small consulate, unless things have changed a lot recently.
