US spies killed in terrorist raid
NEW DELHI: Even though the Indian government has refrained from dragging Islamabad directly into the Mumbai terror attacks, insinuations suggest that diplomatic relations between the two countries may suffer in the aftermath of the attacks.
It is believed that the terrorists identified and then killed two senior US intelligence officers staying at the Taj Mahal Hotel.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in his address to the nation, pricked Pakistan thrice without naming it. The security agencies in New Delhi told reporters they suspected the role of Al Qaeda in the attacks. The agencies believed their suspicion arose from the way the terrorists captured Taj hotel and successfully identified two senior US intelligence officials by checking the passports of the foreigners who were staying there, sources said
The Chi-Com grenades nailed that door shut.

brings up the question of whether the “Pak government” is really in charge of who its intelligence and miltary support
Who gave out this information ?
Actually for me it wasn’t the Chinese arms and grenades - they sell enough of those on the world arms market that anyone anywhere can get ahold of some. Hell, the Chinese have had some of them come back and bite them in the arse often enough.
No, what keyed me in was the discovery of mil-pack RDX and MP5 submachine guns in quantity. Terrorists almost *never* select the MP5, because they cost a lot more on the world arms market than an AK. They also require a bit of technical support to keep running and aren’t as rugged as the AK, again encouraging terrorists to buy the AK.
But Pakistan *makes* MP5s.
The pakistani government doesn’t control the pakistani government. What we think of as Al Qaeda is half the Pakistani government.
They have deliberately mounted this attack in order to assure an Indian retaliation, and they have, I believe, deliberately left their fingerprints all over it to make sure the Indians know where to direct the counterattack.
They want India to retaliate. They believe that the chaos that will follow will be good for them.
Very helpful. Thanks.
Disclaimer...all the Post-86 samples I own need LEO demo letter and only go to LEO/MIL/SOT.
Probably not hard to figure out, if they are under official cover, then they work at the embassy. For a terrorist, thats good enough.
If they weren't under official cover, then the fact that they stayed at the Taj was good enough. They were killing Americans; they just happened to be among them.

Yeah, but that’s on the US civilian market. On the world arms market, German MP5s are typically between $750 and $1000 per copy. Strangely, most of the MP5 licensees don’t sell on the global market.
AKs can be had for $25-50 each at almost any arms bazaar in the world.
Oh, you probably meant who told the press?
Yeah, good question. This shouldn’t have been revealed.
Yeah. Bunch of kids on their own.
Odd that some South African commandos were “on holiday” at the hotel, and at the same time some US intelligence officers were there?
Coincidence? Maybe.
Or maybe not.
Maybe this date and this hotel were chosen for a reason (and, again to speculate, a date that the Pakistani ISI knew about).
Total speculation; but possible...
Well, 25 CIA station chiefs have QUIT rather than name names after 1/20/2009.
Do the math.
Do you have a link? I hadn't seen that.
This is weird.

Of course, that is one of only two important issues in the world today.
Iran.
And, who's REALLY in charge in Pakistan.
I can see only nuclear war resolving either.
More info on that please.
