Dear FReepers and friends.
I am in need of prayers. I planned this trip to Chicago several weeks ago. A week ago Monday my mother became short of breath and was taken to the ER at her hospital. They kept her overnight and could find nothing wrong. She's 74 and has been smoking all her adult life.
They told us it was the onset of emphysema. Last Friday she had another episode and was taken to another hospital where she was diagnosed with double pneumonia. She has been in the hospital since.
I arrived with my two sons yesterday and I went to see her. She looked terrible to me but I sat with and held her and stroked her hair and told her I loved her.
Today they did an angiogram and found a 95% percent blockage in one of the arteries in her heart. They tried to put a stent in but for some reason could not. Now they have put her on a list for open heart surgery.
Yesterday after I left her I called my wife who had to stay in CT and told her the I felt that my mother would not survive this event. I don't know why but that's what I thought yesterday. She had been doing a lot better but to me, seeing her like that was heartbreaking.
I would like to ask for the help of the forum. I really need your prayers for the next few days. They have not scheduled the surgery and are thinking of putting it off till Friday.
I am staying at my sister's house and have limited access to the net. I will check back and keep everyone posted when I can.
Thanks in advance for the prayers.

Dear FRiends. The end is near. I spoke to my sister moments ago and my mom is now DNR. She has been suffering and struggling and it is the time to say goodbye. She is ready to move on to the Lord and find peace and happiness in the care of Jesus. It is so hard for me to sit here and wait. My sister, father and brother have been through so much and we are all ready for that time when she decides to let go of us and this earth and make her way to heaven. They now say she has lung cancer. On top of everything else we know that she is suffering. It is time. Thank you all for being here for me and my family. Here are some pics of my mother and father at their wedding. Pray for her peace and a new beginning in the arms of the Lord. Thank you all. Ray And, my dads favorite...
Words offer little for such a loss. Faith reminds us that your mother has gone to her reward for a good life and will await you. In the meanwhile, you must and will endure and honor her memory by your conduct and continuing love for her.

Know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, raybbr.
Praying for your Mom, you, and your loved ones.
You and your family have my prayers. I lost my dad to lung cancer and my mom to heart disease.
May our Lord hold all of your mom’s loved ones in His arms.
Sorry to hear the sad news. Prayers for you and your family.
Tough way to end the year. My condolences...and my prayers to you and yours.
There aren’t enough words to tell you how sorry I am, and how bad I feel for you & your family...
Feel some peace in knowing your mother is now in the arms of her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
I very much pray for safe travels for you, and for God to provide every ounce possible of peace & comfort to all of you as well.
I saw your Mom & Dad’s picture a few posts above ~ wow, your Mom was absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing those with us...
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, dear raybbr. And I join with the others here lifting you and all the family up to God for His peace, blessing and guidance as you deal with your mother’s homegoing.
So sorry to hear. Prayers for you and your family.
God keep you and yours in safety, and bless and surround you in His loving, comforting, presence. Our prayers are with you.
I am so sorry, raybbr. We prayed for healing but God’s ways are much higher than our own. He has a reason. Your mother is now free from suffering and she has no more pain. You have a great deal of your mother in you and you will never forget her. Remember what she considered to be important and the love she had for you. Share that love with all who are dear to you. I know you will comfort your dad and be there for him. He will ache terribly. May peace come to your family and the may the Lord’s love surround you.
