Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.

Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.

The first shooting took place near the CST police station

Foreign Ministry: Sixth body found in Chabad house

The Foreign Ministry announced that a sixth body has been found in the Chabad house in Mumbai, in addition to the five bodies that were found earlier by Indian commandos. All of the bodies have been transferred to the hospital for identification. (Roee Nahmias)

A Welsh couple claimed that an international television news channel put their lives at risk by broadcasting details of where they were hiding in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Lynne and Kenneth Shaw, of Penarth, South Wales, said that they hid under tables as the terrorists stormed through the hotel. “The terrorists were watching CNN and they came down in a lift after hearing about us on TV,” Mrs Shaw said. A spokesman for CNN said: “We had employees trapped at the hotel and were vigilant about anything we broadcast.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A Brooklyn rabbi and his wife were found among the dead in a series of terrorist attacks in India that have claimed more than 150 lives. In response to the attacks, the NYPD beefed up patrols around large hotels and Jewish centers, including the Lubavitch headquarters, said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.

The department already was on alert because of a warning earlier this week of a possible al-Qaida plot to strike the city’s rail systems over the holidays.

“The threat is serious, the threat is significant, and it is plausible,” said Congressman Peter King, R-Long Island, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

There was anger and frustration on Friday at the Lubavitch world headquarters on Eastern Parkway.

“This news is fresh, and the wound is raw,” Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky said.”

It’s now about 60 hours (2 1/2 days) since this nightmare began, if I have the right starting time. I hope it’s all under control as the latest reports seem to indicate the hotels have been “sanitized” for terrorists — but I wonder if they know for sure that there aren’t anymore booby traps etc.

Tried. He demanded money and had a folded newspaper and acted like he had a weapon in it. I had the gas nozzle pointed at him and he walked off after a minute or so.
