“Staffing agencies”- sounds like a good growth opportunity for entrepreneurs. We have a friend who started a temp staff agency years ago and has become a wealthy man

WIll the idiots that voted for Obama realize they made the biggest mistake ever, or will they STILL try to pin this BS on Bush?

Conservatives are going to have to mount a huge phone/e-mail deluge of Congress to keep this from happening. But sadly, it’s likely to pass because we’ve turned the entire country over to libs. They own the schools, government, judiciary, media, and entertainment. And - virtually all of those sectors are fully unionized.

Ther used to be an A-20 down in Bimini next to the airport. It was not crashed but out of service. Don’t know hat happened to it. My Dad was a tail gunner in an A-20 “Able Fox”.

Oh there is going to be some massive layoffs alright - Im hoping the market pops above 8900 again and Im gonna be all out. This is the time to prepare things are gonna get real bad real soon. Start stocking up on ammo, ammo and food.

Obama will have no choice but to unleash our troops against the people of America. A dependent, lazy, multicultural dumbed down society is going to wreak havoc on the administration by demanding more and more freebies. Get ready to have him take everything you have by force in order to feed the idiots.

It ain’t passed yet.

A lot of democrats see this as it is, even McGovern opposes it. This is a largely unpopular measure, if the Republicans make an issue of it, it could easily fail with the passive support of democrats looking for reelection. Even more likely, I can see Obama shuffling this act to the bottom of the deck for later action.

Big Labor doesn’t have any place else to go, and Obama has other fish to fry.

Unions are desperate. They have been a shrinking force in the economy for the past 25 years. Ultimately, card check will be the death of unions.

Americans have already figured out that union shops go out of business.

Card Check is the dem solution to the Big Three auto makers. First, you pass the bailout to keep them in business for a couple of years. Then you pass card check which allows the UAW to organize Honda, Toyota, Nissan and bring in the same UAW contracts. There, the playing field is level and the problem is solved.

Offshore Options? Go to GOOGLE key in Outsourcing Nightmares you will get approximately 245,000 results.

The problem with outsourcing work offshore is that, as so many have found out, you usually wind up outsourcing control along with the work.

In this advanced, matured, developed, sophisticated world economy, it’s a liability if you don’t take care of your employees to a certain degree, so unions just aren’t necessary like they were when the industrial economy was primitive and bosses exploited their employees as much as they could

Another option to avoid the union thugs, after automating every 'job function' one could, is to make all the 'employees', self-employed contractors. You give them a One Year Contract for $x.xx dollars, payable in installments and then THEY'RE responsible for everything. At the end of the year they get a 1099 and they're on their own.

They handle their own insurance, FICA, and Fed and State Taxes - which gets itemized on their 1040 and Schedule C come April 15 (or quarterly installment payments to the IRS if applicable).

We have a life-long friend who was a glorified receptionist / book keeper for an Auto Dealer and this is how she was 'employed' for years. So this concept isn't new.

Will be interesting when the price of food increases 20% in those parts of the country where supermarket employees have not previously been unionized. That is the premium I have estimated we are paying at the unionized stores.

Unionization affects EVERYONE.

The dumb masses won't know the difference and it will be blamed on "greedy" capitalists who want to cut costs and expand profits. That's how socialism works and the workers will blame not the ones that initiated the policy but rather on the capitalist class. Welcome to the workers paradise.

Well, we all knew this experiment wasn't going to last long. Wait until they start looking for external enemies to go to war against and lame everything on.

This all looks like part of the big plan to destroy business and capitalism as well. Nationalize the businesses. Then inform the unions that they aren’t in charge anymore, since they work for the gummint. If they don’t like it, too bad, since we are in a continual crisis situation.
