Card Check is the dem solution to the Big Three auto makers. First, you pass the bailout to keep them in business for a couple of years. Then you pass card check which allows the UAW to organize Honda, Toyota, Nissan and bring in the same UAW contracts. There, the playing field is level and the problem is solved.

IIRC most of the southern states are right to work. Even if Honda, Nissan etc have to recognize the UAW in their plants, I don’t think the individual worker has to join.

MI and Ohio are closed shop. Want to work? Gotta join the UAW.

Except Honda Toyota and Nissan can close up shop and pull out, re-open in Mexico or Taiwan or India or wherever. Still, your observation probably fits well with the static thinking of the union thugs, used to GM and F standing there like wooden Indians and letting themselves get hit.
