***if the world goes to hell in a short 2 years, i would think even the most die hard Democrat might have to concede that maybe they made a mistake and that the Republicans were probably right.***
Problem is, dims are incapable of admitting mistakes. (Which explains why they keep making the same ones over and over.)
As for the world “going to hell in a short 2 years”...
I saw a great bumper sticker:
“Don’t make me come down there.” GOD
I will close down if anyone here tries to unionize. I had a SOB a few years back that was trying to organize and I downsized his job. No more union talk here. He sued, I won. I love right to work states:-)
I haven’t seen any leadership talking or holding press conferences on the Republican side at all to address this issue. The closest so far on any issue is the Congressman from Alabama who jumped in there on the Youth Civilian Corp thing. If no one speaks up, there is no one protesting or stating the opinion of the Republican party and they may as well fade away at that point. And are the fillibuster members ready to do their thing? Even if they lose, they need to be protesting so American knows they exist and they need to speak up.
Card Check is the dem solution to the Big Three auto makers. First, you pass the bailout to keep them in business for a couple of years. Then you pass card check which allows the UAW to organize Honda, Toyota, Nissan and bring in the same UAW contracts. There, the playing field is level and the problem is solved.
I wish I had a Republican to encourage!! In NM we went from 3 of 5 to 0 of 5 in Congress, mainly due to the circular firing squad in the primary last June. We lost the conservative second district candidate who tried to replace the retiring moderate Senator Pete Domenici. The national party gave up the seat early in realization that a very conservative candidate can't win in a heavily Democratic Hispanic state. Given it was a Democratic year we probably would have lost the seat anyway, but we didn't have to lose the second district if the two candidates hadn't beat each other to a pulp in the primary. Unfortunately, I don't see us gaining any of these back soon.
The problem with outsourcing work offshore is that, as so many have found out, you usually wind up outsourcing control along with the work.
Wishful thinking.
I agree, but if the world goes to hell in a short 2 years, i would think even the most die hard Democrat might have to concede that maybe they made a mistake and that the Republicans were probably right.
If things get worse, and don't turn around in two years, there will be two things that the Dems and their media propaganda wing will push. The talking points will be:
Correct
of course they will add trade restrictions and tariffs also
Kinda eager to take up arms against your fellow Americans, aren’t you?
This is a tought one for me. Yeah a lot of these idiots who voted for 0bama don’t know what’s good for them, but are they really so stupid as to try to organize in such a way that their company will have to shut down? Seems like the unions realize they’re going to have to make sacrifices like everyone else. But what do I know? I love my right to work state.
The real hope is to get ads out that explain this to the American people. They don’t know!
If they find out they’re going to expand the same unions that brought GM to it’s knees, I don’t think it will pass. Meanwhile, if necessary filibuster.
I would think that small businesses would foot the bill to get this out there.
Of course they’ll try that, but it is questionable whether they’ll get away with it.
Esquilax - member since 11/8/2008 - kind of a newbie arent ya? Hmmm lets see - Obama is not born in the US, a recognized socialist/communist, pledges a brown shirt army, plans to further nationalize industry, economy suddenly collapses a month before election...nah nothing to worry about - are you sure you belong here?
Personnel Employement Organizations (PEOs) are growing quite rapidly. You lease your employees to yourself from an agency. The agency handles all the paperwork, benefits, etc. It is expensive. However, unionization would cost more.
This would be a bonanza for them.
In this advanced, matured, developed, sophisticated world economy, it’s a liability if you don’t take care of your employees to a certain degree, so unions just aren’t necessary like they were when the industrial economy was primitive and bosses exploited their employees as much as they could
Well when I said “they” I wasn’t referring to the Democrat “elite” like Pelosi, Reid and the other cast of misfits (they have long been considered off their rocker and not able to be rehabilitated). I was referring to the average Democrat idiot that voted for Obama. I would think even a few of them will see through the MSM smokescreen as being BS. Then again as others have said here maybe I am too optimistic, or even that I am delusional to think such a thing could happen.
They handle their own insurance, FICA, and Fed and State Taxes - which gets itemized on their 1040 and Schedule C come April 15 (or quarterly installment payments to the IRS if applicable).
We have a life-long friend who was a glorified receptionist / book keeper for an Auto Dealer and this is how she was 'employed' for years. So this concept isn't new.
Will be interesting when the price of food increases 20% in those parts of the country where supermarket employees have not previously been unionized. That is the premium I have estimated we are paying at the unionized stores.
Unionization affects EVERYONE.
Well, we all knew this experiment wasn't going to last long. Wait until they start looking for external enemies to go to war against and lame everything on.
