Cutter also said the two will be joined at Obama's Chicago transition office by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a McCain confidant, and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois Democrat whom Obama has chose to be his White House chief of staff.

Obama is planning to use McCain and Lindsey Graham as “bipartisan” cover for his actions. Unfortunately, both McCain and Graham have no other goals than to be “players”. Obama will make them players.

Now, Obama’s argument is that “who can be more “Republican” than the Republican Presidential Candidate. So anyone, who opposes Obama’s plans are going to be smeared as “the far right”, “extremists”, “bigots”, “haters”, etc.

McCain is not through in his campaign against a conservative Republican Party.

Is it time to give the Republican Party to McCain, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and other “moderates”?

Good, time to start the war party

Didn’t I hear that if the Dems got to 60 Lieberman was going to Caucus with the Republicans?

If the Dems get to 60, who cares what Lieberman does?

It only means that they'll get 61 votes on everything but Iraq and the War on Terror, where they'll get only 60.

“Obama and McCain “share an important belief that Americans want and deserve a more effective and efficient government, and will discuss ways to work together to make that a reality,” said Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutt”

This has all the makings of a setup from the Obama folks to the McCain people.

If Obama offers McCain the position of Sec of Defense, it puts McCain in an absolutely no-win situation because

(1) McCain accepts, AZ Democratic Gov appoints Democratic replacement and get the magic “60”

(2) McCain declines, and the MSM, Emmanuel, and spin machines report that McCain is not sincere about his support for the troops and that when Obama offerred him the top spot in the Pentagon, he turned his back on them and chose party politics over service.

I find something in the realm of alternative (2) truly vile on the Obama people. McCain may be RINO and not a full spectrum conservative, but he does support the troops.

So, is it worth it to get involved with the Republican party and try to push it back to the right, or should we rally the conservative troops to some other party, such as this Falcon party I’ve heard several mention (from what I’ve read so far - it looks fantastic). So many are saying the Republican party is history and will never be wrested away from the Rinos, so is it a waste of time to have anything to do with it anymore? Since the GOP is in disarry is now the time to pull out and start fresh with a party that truly reflects conservative principles? I always used to think third parties were a waste of time and split the conservative vote, but after this last election I’m not so sure.

Someone mentioned in a thread the other day that Napolitano, under Arizona law, would have to appoint a Republican to replace McCain.

If this is true, we won’t have to worry about the democrats picking up a seat in Arizona.

Mr. McBipartisan is nuzzeling up to The Marxist Onada to make sure he isn’t left out. It isn’t really possible for my esteen for this once honorable and courageous warrior to go any lower.

GOP is nothing more than a wing of the leftist demrat party. Based on what I’ve been hearing from the so-called leadership (except Gov. Palin) I’m not optimistic it will ever again be a vehicle that would attract conservatives.

Perhaps he’s informing him that there will be a campaign finance investigation on the RNC. The irony of being prosecuted for McCain-Feingold while Ohbummer rakes in $700M in unknown funds.

The jury is still out...could we please withhold judgment until after the outcomes of the meeting?

Yes, McCain will be BO’s GOP senate liason....
He seems to feel more at home on the D side of the aisle....and he often said that on the campaign trail.
He is proud of his ability to CROSS the aisle.

Nothing new.

Folks, can we at least see what transpires from this over-hyped meeting before McCain gets thrown under the bus? He was our Nominee and had the good sense to choose Sarah Palin, remember? He worked tirelessly to try to win. I give John McCain credit where credit is due.

I'll wait to see what this meaningless meeting really means.

I saw your note yesterday, and it begs answer to the question I have been pondering myself. I have actually been pondering it for about 15 years now. Let me develop some thoughts and get back to you in a day or two.

I’d like to know your thoughts as well. I think many here are pondering these things.
