I listen to his radio show a lot, and he has good ideas on how to repackage the GOP. He seems to want the position.
Herman ran for the Senate in Georgia, but lost the primary to the RINO Johnney Isakson. Before that, he ran Godfather's pizza, some small business and sits on some major corporate boards. He hosts "The new Herman Cain Show" on am750 at 7pm monday - friday. AM750 is the local Atlanta clear radio station that hosts Boortz, Hannity, Clarke Howard and some others.
** ... he did support the bailout package.**
OK .. that’s ONE THING i’ve disagreed with Herman on ...
I have an appointment so I don’t have the time to list ALL my disagreements with McLAME!!
Herman Cain is the kind of individual motivation conservative promotion guy the Republican Party needs!!
I say yes!!
He’s a fine man. Frankly, all the other names mentioned commonly leave me uninterested.
how about Herman Cain for President?
Mr. Cain has had some health problems as of late, and sadly, got taken in by the Socialist Slick Willard’s candidacy.
I’d rather Herman Cain run for governor in 2010.
The field for Governor is potentially going to be crowded (2 Congressmen, Jack Kingston and Lynn Westmoreland are mentioned), although ultimately may come down to Insurance Comm. John Oxendine and Lt Gov. Casey Cagle as the top candidates on the GOP side (Oxendine has more experience, with what will have been 16 years in that office).
The Dems haven’t settled on a serious candidate, mostly retreads (King Roy Barnes may try for a comeback). I’m not sure who the best candidate is for us. As for Cain, I don’t believe he’d even run for office again (although the Lt Gov office will be open, but that may be far below his talents).
Ga’s black AG, Thubert Baker, may try to capitalize on the Obama Administration by saying, “Elect me I’m black like Obama.”
I suspect in 2010 and 2012, we will see a boon of black Dems running for statewide offices in many states.
Baker’s not mentioned as a candidate, actually. He is now one of only three remaining Democrats in statewide office, holding onto the AG office based solely on the power of incumbency (ironically, a Republican held it prior to Baker, Michael Bowers, the first Republican in a statewide office in the modern era after his party switch — and he was expected to run for and win the Governorship back in 1998, but was destroyed by his affair and lost the nomination). It was Zell Miller who appointed Baker when Bowers resigned in ‘97.
However, the other statewide Black Dem official, Labor Commissioner Mike Thurmond, is mentioned as a possible candidate. Of course, 2010 may end up a serious backlash against Dems (and Black Dems, potentially even more so) when the False Messiah reveals himself an incompetent bust, as many of us expect. Ex-Congresswoman Denise Majette is also mentioned, but she was a bust in running against Johnny Isakson back in ‘04. Even the Dems kept a Black from running against Chambliss this year, and went with a rich White guy (of course, Chambliss wouldn’t even be in a runoff had he not gone native in voting for both shamnesty and the bailout).
Cagle is involved with some nasty infighting with other legislative leaders. The house speaker openly hates him.
I don’t know how Oxendine would govern but he’s certainly a proven vote getter and has been long waiting to move up in office.
