The Roman Catholic Church has halted contributions to the community organizing group ACORN because of questionable voting incidents, a church official says.
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development cited, among other things, complaints over ACORN's registration drives in the Nov. 4 election, CNN reported.
"We simply had too many questions and concerns to permit further CCHD funding of ACORN groups," Roger Morin, the auxiliary bishop of New Orleans and campaign chairman, told the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops meeting in Baltimore, Md.

ACORN had a lot of fronts, and money didn’t go to ACORN directly, but to something with a name like “Neighborhood Health Alliance” or some such innocuous thing. However, the lefties in the CCHD knew perfectly well where it was going. The bishops are finally asking some questions, but nobody questioned these leftists for way too long.
Steady boy! Even Catholics can be critiqued. I wouldn't call it bashing. Such sensitivity over the realities of what is going on within your church is kind of alarming. I wouldn't say that just for the Catholic Church , but for any denomination. Trust me , I have seen bad things done in churches and covered up, because well it is too sensitive to discuss or for the public to know about.
And the next time you sign a mortgage, check and see that $490 line item added to it and ask why?
...like Waxman’s gonna go hard on Soros,,,,right
The Catholics voted in the majority for Obama.
When the truth is presented, why is that bashing? Isn’t that simply pointing out the real character of the organization?
Contact you bishop and tell him to not send the CCHD collection to the USCCB and instead keep in in your own diocese to serve the poor.

Me too. I had no idea!
What do you know, the Catholic church has finally woken up, I never understood all those Catholic Democrats, I’ll refrain from saying more and let this end on a positive note. Good for the Catholics ...
Too little-—too late.
The Catholics knew about ACORN’s problems for years. It was only because ACORN was finally put in the public spotlight that they stopped funding.
If you take a public stand against your pastor or Archbishop, you are critisized, shunned and mocked!
Criticism is never accepted and contempt is always manifested by the Hierachy.
the priest and bishops are always right!
I have stopped putting money in the collection basket on Sundays ever since the pedophile priests scandals broke. I also have never given to the CHD. There are many questionable organizations that may be included in this collection.
What’s the rush?
Drudge should make that a headline on his website.
George Soros being investigated for financial meltdown!!!!
Voter fraud is okay if it’s conducted by democrats.
Though better late than never....
“I never understood all those Catholic Democrats”
I remember that when I was little and JFK was running, there were so many Catholics in our town who voted democrat. The connection was that they were laborers for Ford and the unions demanded that they vote democrat. And they did! God forbid that they should think for themselves and vote conscience in the booth. What the unions decreed, they did robotically.
We have a bunch of leftists in our Church. They go under the guise of “The Faith Justice Group” and probably know, if not support this stuff. Our priest is a holy and conservative man, if he wasn’t, we’d be out of there. I’m a Christian first, Catholic second.
