I am willing to have faith in any person that was willing when called upon to “struggle” with something they are not totally familiar with than putting all my faith in a person that has no background, no history and won’t come forward to prove otherwise. Nuff said.

Well said.

I agree with you. I think if she is on the ticket again it will mean another democratic victory. I think she got too much bad publicity this time around and it would carry over to the next election.

I also think Obama could mess EVERYTHING up and it would still be Bush’s fault and he would still be reelected. I hope I am wrong.

Are there any politicians brave enough to take a stand on the completely porous border issue? It is madness and will be our downfall. I remember that one guy in Colorado legislator Bruce out and got labelled a huge racist.

It is not about racism it is about sensible immigration policies that won’t damage the country and will protect us from terrorism.

Thank you for proving that if a person really wants to dig around the information is out there! If people think she sounds "folksy" and is a hick from the sticks, guess again. Pointing out the fact that she took the big boys from oil, to the whipping shed, is well worth noting.
40 Billion dollar deal. That's not chump change anywhere on the planet. Most executives will never see a deal or that magnitude. The more you know about this woman, the better she gets! Thanks again Avocado!

The more the libs, Dems, FR moles and RINOs attack her, the more I am convinced that Sarah Palin will be a force to be reckoned with.

All she really needs is the right mentor to be as much of a wonk on policy issues as will be expected of her in just a couple of years’ time. I nominate Fred Thompson.

"I wasn’t a supporter of McCain-Kennedy, but I’m also not in the “deport them now” Tom Tancredo crowd either."

Yes, a "phased withdrawal" over 36 months would be fine with me.

Not everyone - least of all the people who still watch the evening news and Saturday Night Live - thinks like we do. That stinks, but it’s reality.

So, you want to run McCain again in 2012, or bring back Bob Dole?

"Yet both parties pander to the Latino vote."

Yet many Latinos do NOT support illegal immigration.

I want to run a real conservative who can clearly articulate why small(er) government and conservatism is important to them. I don’t feel Sarah Palin does this at the level Bobby Jindal does. IMO, it’s not even close. Has nothing to do with education, her accent, or anything like that. It has to do with policy depth and an ability to communicate that policy at a level the unintelligent in the country who are easily swayed can understand. I like Palin a lot. I like Jindal a lot more. Doesn’t make me anti-Palin. The knee-jerk reaction that some on here have to any perceived criticism of Sarah is stunning.

Some comments in here are amusing. So which campaign staffs have some of you signed onto for 2012?

I don’t give a damn who anyone supports, so long as they are a conservative. But anyone attacking a conservative really doesn’t belong here. You are as worthless as the classless McCain staffers or some of the Romney people.

It’s the message that matters. Then finding the messenger who is best able to bring it to the widest array of people. You don’t cut down conservatives preaching conservatisism. Ever. Whether they are the best suited for the national message, doesn’t mean they aren’t suited elsewhere and effective elsewhere in bringing that message to people.

In this case we have a woman a lot of people adore preaching conservatism and people are listening, but some of you want to cut her legs out for your less then noble reasons or prejudices. Go away. You aren’t needed in this movement. The only people needed are those that elevate anyone who is a conservative and lives that in their personal and political lives.

Support Jindal for President. Support Sanford. Support Sarah. I don’t care. But stop with the backbiting against ANY conservative and direct the sharp tongues only at the RINO’s deserving of it.

OK..fair enough. I guess we would have to agree on the term ‘populism’ before we could really discuss it. It is a word that is often misused and misunderstood. I could turn the question around on you and ask you this:

If the majority of the popular vote went to Gore in 2000, should he have been made President?

But that’s not a populist. A populist is someone who forms their opinions and positions based on what’s popular, not necessarily what’s right. THE best example of a populist? Bill O’Reilly.

"Because anyone who questions the merits of her at the top of the ticket is an MSM robot and clearly a troll, right? "

WTF is your malfunction? I suggested to another poster to read up on the Alaska Highway Pipeline and I did NOT reply to you in any way shape or form. Geeze...

You're right that it's worse for the border states, but anymore, illegals are EVERYWHERE!!!!! MY point, it's more crucial to many Americans than they think.

Furthermore, there are far too many legal immigrants getting in. We are inundated with them and EVERYWHERE also.

No one in this thread has cut down Palin. At all. Some have questioned whether or not she is top of the ticket material. Or is she is the wisest choice. And yet none of these people has said a bad word about her. Quite the opposite. Merely QUESTIONING whether or not she might not be as good a choice as a Jindal or Sandord gets you labelled a Palin basher? She is a vital part of the movement. We need more like her. It’s not being a MSM robot to suggest that she’s not the frist choice to lead the party.

You are most welcome. And you are right, a $40 billion dollar deal in the energy industry is huge!

Bull, polls and their votes show they darn sure support amnesty for their like brethren...even the Cubans do. Mariel memories maybe.

“THE best example of a populist? Bill O’Reilly.”

Dittos on that...LOL. Point taken. My point was that populism is at the base of most democracies. The people rule kind of thing. But we are not a pure democracy in America(which is a good thing)...we are a republic.

I can’t name the specific soundbite that Palin made that lead me to this assumption other than a few vague references to ‘Big Oil’ and ‘unions’. You see, I never thought the republicans should have run from the term ‘Big Oil’ in the first place just because people like O’Reilly made it popular to do so. ‘Big and small oil’ employs hundreds of thousands of people in this country and ‘big oil’ venders and suppliers employ hundreds of thousands more people. Like I said though, my bigger impression at the time was that the McCain camp was imposing those types of populist rhetoric on Sarah...so we shall see as she hones her message more to her own beliefs. Like I said too....I love her and support her rise in this party with every fiber of my being.
