Democrats prepare to move forward with investigations of the Bush administration... Developing...
Yes, his statement was a matter of fact statement
If you can’t lead, investigate.
Oh please. Unlike you and the majority of FReepers who'll suck their thumbs underneath their superhero blankie, I intend on fighting for what's right. I'm not afraid of Obama and in fact I'm glad that he did win. Now we can get this show on the road - let Americans see first-hand the destruction of socialism and whether they're going to succumb to it or fight it.
We will be too busy standing in bread lines, soap lines, toilet paper lines, and check-cashing lines to have any thought of activism. That’s how the Soviets did it.
I no longer have faith in the Sheep.
Except for Clinton, the Pubs never investigate Dems. Cowards all. The Stupid Party now will find a way not to indict Dems over Fannie and Freddie and will say to themselves, ‘we are good people and will not act like the Dems do.’ Yep, and continue to lose because you will not defend yourselves especially when you are right on domestic and foreign policy.
EEE: “Voters simply decided to chose the real socialism over the wishy-washy socialism that McCain represented.”
I’m not so sure that’s true. Many folks don’t seem to think Obama IS a socialist. He acted more conservative than McCain during the last six months of the election. There was the “spread the wealth” comment, but the press certainly downplayed it (and virtually everything else negative about the O).
Most folks do not lurk Free Republic or listen to conservative talk radio. Most folks get their news from the alphabet networks and local papers. That would explain why Obama successfully hoodwinked even many self-professed conservatives to vote for him.
If they truly knew what Obama portends for America, I’m convinced they would have never voted for him. Alas, it was not to be.
This explains the Powell endorsement perfectly.
Truthfully, John McCain was the last person I wanted to see as a nominee. As a matter of fact, I swore I would never cast a ballot for him.
But times change. I voted for McCain, but in doing so I voted to preserve the Supreme Court and to avoid this push towards a socialistic government. I voted against the Dems winning the Trifecta.
More importantly, I voted against a man who has been described as believing:
"....a shift in constitutional thinking from a rights-based discourse to one that centered [on] responsibility and duties ... would be a good thing,"..." Politico, June, '08
You are free to vote you conscience as am I. Don't fool yourself into thinking the GOP will learn some profound lesson from this. They did not in 2006, why should they today? The lessons will be learned from the bottom up, not the top down. I try to pick my battles wisely. IMHO, a third party vote was not a wasted vote, it a vote to destroy what little individual liberty we have left.
Trust me, I’m not holding my breath. Just hoping for the best. But, something tells me there’s not going to be as much resistance as I see here on FR.
It was a decisive victory in the sense that it wasn't near as close as it was in the last 2 elections. Obama didn't need a Ross Perot to defeat McCain. He won over states such as PA and VA. Cry about vote fraud, ACORN, shady foreign donations or whatever, but Obama won clearly here. Not a landslide but it was a clear victory. There was simply a majority of voters who were sick and tired of Bush & the Republicans and wanted to see something new.
Look, Obama is going to be hamstrung by the very special-interest groups that put him into power. He's not going to fulfill all their promises, and that's going to be his downfall. Our nation will survive Obama and become stronger.
How can we get a special prosecutor appointed like the dems did for the not-covert Plame non-outing?
Thanks Lady GOP, great article. Now if we could only get that article in every newspaper in America.
There are plenty of constitutional experts, some highly respected and who held court in the Reagan administration, whom have expressed that there is reason to believe the Bush administration has violated the Constitution and/or rule of law. I happen to agree. Just as is true with your local police force, the only way for anyone to know if there were violations is for investigations to take place into the alleged crimes.
The fact is that this is a non-partisan issue. If you believe in the rule of law and the principles of limited government, you can't excuse and apologize for your side of the aisle just because you agree with the ideology. It sets a dangerous precident for the long term strength of our republic. We should demand accountability regardless of party.
I never did find out what was behind that call from the FBI, but I thought it hilarious that someone could have decided I was a terrorist. Perhaps to that person I was a threat to some statist scheme he or she was hatching...
Which has NOTHING to do with you being a dumbass party over principle waste of good oxygen.
.
How about the Republicans investigating Obama?
How about the millions of dollars worth of illegal campaign funds from Americas enemies overseas,
the documented voter fraud of ACORN,
how about Obama going to Kenya to campaign for the murdering Islam-backed Odinga ON OUR TAX DOLLAR??
How about this being in violation of the Logan Act??
.
.
let the democrats have show trials and imprison everyone including Bush. They seem to want to reach accross the aisle. You feed a crocodile you will have your hand eaten. This is a well deserved lesson for the RINOS.
