McCain: Don't blame Palin
AP on Bakersfield Californian ^ | 11/11/08 | AP

John McCain says Sarah Palin didn't hurt his presidential bid and he attributes anonymous criticism aimed at her following their loss last week to typical campaign sniping.

--snip--

The Arizona senator tells Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" the Republican ticket faced a tough challenge from the start but disputed that a different vice presidential pick would have changed the outcome.

He had only kind words for the Alaska governor and her family. But he didn't directly address criticism from unidentified McCain operatives ...

It is possible that the hoaxer is a liar and there really is an unnamed Palin backstabber in the McCain campaign? I emailed John Gibson during his radio show saying that Carl Cameron's unnamed source was a hoaxer. He sent me an interesting email.

"bloom, sorry again. i read your link. someone is bragging beyond their actual accomplishments. my son is carl's producer and i know for a fact nobody leaked anything to him, because he said the story was all carl. i do know who was talking to carl and that source is literally unimpeachable. hey look, i like her too, but this episode has just shown that she should do her homework and she'll be back in a couple years this whole dustup forgotten. jg"

If this is true, then the real source in the McCain campaign is still unknown.

THE WHOLE DAMN THING WAS MADE UP BY OBAMA OPERATIVES!

**************

If this was done by Obama operatives then why aren't the McCain campaign people coming out and saying that they are not the source? Why did McCain say that these things happen in a campaign. Is he condoning what his staff is doing because it is something that just happens? I'm not buying any of this.

More:

"Now, BT... that really came from John Gibson?"

It really came from John Gibson. He responds to emails during his show. He claims the source is not the hoaxer. I don't know if his son is covering for Cameron's incompetence or there is a real source inside the McCain campaign.I think Cameron is a lowlife snake for trying to destroy someone's character with unnamed sources. Palin has denied everything, so someone is lying. I believe Palin.

BloomNTn is a long time FR poster. I give him some credibility. You were on that thread last night too. Maybe you missed the comments towards the end.

This is third hand garbage, now.

Emails from unnamed fathers of unnamed producers.

And still people won't open their eyes to what's really happening here.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO HATE JOHN MCCAIN TO LOVE SARAH PALIN!

McCain was a weak candidate who ran a reasonably effective campaign in a hostile political environment.

He got his butt kicked.

Let it go!

Pathetic

If these folks want to see a bunch of pathetic losers, they need to look in a mirror. Everything they need to know to understand the death of the republican party is right there before their own eyes.

This is third hand garbage, now.

If we want to be winners, we will focus on what are the key issues and how a conservative perspective will solve them best.

But instead, the losers around here are whining about stuff that would just go away if they would stop whining like they just lost a fight over some moldy bit of tossed out food at the town dump.

Agreed.

You just know the other side is watching this and chortling, "Wow, is it easy to get these guys to form a circular firing squad!"

McCain’s history is a pretty good indicator. I’ll take that over your assumptions. Sorry if you can’t accept that.

Oh, I assure you, I don’t hate McCain because of Sarah.

I’ve despised him for 8 years for so many reasons. Do you need a list?

His last 8 years of bitterness and backstabbing for getting his butt kicked in 2000 by Bush and conservatives.

Being against tax cuts.

For amnesty.

For working behind the scenes with the Gang of Fourteen.

the Al Quida Bill of Rights.

Campaign finance.

The bailout.

Selling the Party out for favorable coverage from the media.

Want to keep going?

You won’t find many on FR tha support Mccain. He has aligned himself with our enemies for far too long and very likely is going to return to the Senate and do so again.

Should be a good game and it is on Saturday night with the Game Day crowd in Norman.

Can guarantee one thing — our fans do NOT tear up the seats in our stadium and pass them up to the top. I saw that at the Tech game — I have heard about it but never have seen it before. We also are not allowed on the field following the game or we lose our season tickets plus who knows what else. Last time the field was stormed here was in 2000 when we beat Nebraska for #1. Okie State when they beat OU in 2001 tried to tear up our field and that instituted NO ONE on the field. The Okie State fans also broke some windows in Norman after they won. Cops all around to make sure you stay off the field.

When our game was finished with Nebraska this year, all the TV’s on the ground floor inside the stadium were tuned to the TT/Texas game. A huge roar went around the stadium when TT scored at the end then Boomer Sooner chants broke out and we all left the stadium.

Looking forward to having Tech in Norman!

THIS WAS AN OBAMA DIRTY TRICK! Sorry you fell for it. Glad McCain did not.

So McCain's saw things clearly and developed a brilliant strategy to counter Obama's attempt to undermine the GOP and their future chances where he would remain silent and let the smears sit there, sinking into people's subconscious and take on the aura of truth? Good plan!

If this were anyone but McCain I'd say it was preposterous but with a man who has so proud a tradition of undermining republicans and conservatives, I suppose this is quite possible.
