Firearms Industry Addresses Rising Gun Sales; Obama Admin. Showing Anti-Gun Cards Early
MarketWatch ^ | 11/10/08 | Staff

NEWTOWN, Conn., Nov 10, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- As firearm sales continue to increase this year, at a rate of 10 percent over the same period last year and 15 percent in October alone, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms industry -- is pointing to gun-owner concerns about an Obama Administration as reason for the boom.

Last week President-elect Obama's Web site had posted his administration's agenda for curtailing the Second Amendment rights of law abiding Americans, thereby validating the concerns of gun owners, sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts all across the country. Curiously, the Obama-Biden gun control agenda was taken down from the Web site after just two days.

President-elect Obama's Web site stated he would make permanent the expired "assault weapons" ban of 1994, a ban on firearms that was based on cosmetic appearance, such as the type of stock on the gun, and not functionality. The expired ban did nothing to reduce crime while it was in place. President-elect Obama's Web site intentionally misled the American people by referring to these firearms as "weapons that belong on foreign battlefields." These firearms are not machine guns. In reality, these commonplace firearms that President-elect Obama wants to permanently ban are used in shooting competitions and are found in homes and hunting lodges all across the country. They fire only once with each trigger pull, no spray firing, and they shoot the same ammunition as other firearms of the same caliber.

Agreed and ya know the men on the greens in Lexington and Concord didn’t much want to have to aim their muskets at their fellow British subjects but they also realized an armed man is a free man, a disarmed man is nothing but a slave. If it comes down to being a slave; I’d rather die free and give my life for the cause of regaining freedom for those who survive.

As if such a reaction would, or should, come as a surprise to anyone.
They really do think Americans are stupid whereas I can't believe how stupid they are.

Megan is much better looking in person too!

you've met megan?

I think she is a regular visitor to Free Republic. She frequently brings up the same topics (and some comments) that people here are discussing.

A lot of people talk really big here, but when it gets very quiet think this through. Are you really ready to shoot it out? Are you honestly prepared to face overwhelming odds with very experienced merciless people opposing you? Are you actually ready to die for your beliefs? Remember the footage of Waco?

Remember the Revolutionary war?!

If you are not willing to defend your rights, you have never had those rights to begin with.

The marxist is going to be unpleasantly surprised when he tries to confiscate guns...

It's no coincidence that so many firearms owners are . . . wait for it . . . astonishingly handy with a firearm.

Stuff worth thinking about..........

http://www.greaterthings.com/Word-Number/CenterofBible/Psalm118.htm

Psalm 118, the middle chapter of the Bible, is the only chapter in the Bible that has the entire Hebrew alphabet listed one letter at a time as a heading for each subsection of the chapter.

Fun stuff.

Nice Tag Line.

Psalm 118:8 is the EXACT middle verse in the Protestant Bible.

It sums up the entire Bible, the whole Gospel, in one sentence.

Translate the converse. Jackboots won't want to live in hiding on military bases, wearing disguises in public. The parking lot at Target can be a very long walk. Even jackboots will want to go fishing and play golf. They can't wear masks and body armor 24/7/365.

Indestructible insurgence ping!

1) Join the NRA

Unfortunately, the NRA has proven itself willing to compromise away gun rights (eg. Brady bill, Veterans Disarmament Bill). And they have been known to give A ratings to anti-gun politicians who have supported said gun control bills.

So don’t just join the NRA. Join a no-compromise gun rights organization, such as Gun Owners of America (400,000 members) and/or National Association of Gun Rights (NAGR).

Your other recommendations are excellent.

“The Feebies don’t need an excuse to kill us.”

Exactly. The federales do not even seem to attempt the pretense of operating under the rule of law.

El Presidente Jorge Boosh appointed Mr. Sullivan as director of b@tfe last year. One could say that he was an early member of the Hussein Obama transition team. So we should have a relatively seamless transition between anti-gun administrations.

JamesP81 said: "There was no gun confiscation with the original AWB."

Not only that, but the original AWB was nonsense which only outlawed combinations of features. With a fixed stock, no bayonet lug, and no flash suppressor, one could still buy an AR-15 type rifle.

Even in the People's Republic of Kalifornia, with THREE different assault weapons laws, it is still possible to buy an AR-15 type rifle as long as one takes off the plastic pistol grip.

The new, improved Obama AWB will probably attempt to close the "loophole" by simply outlawing anything that fires a bullet. Water guns will still be allowed, with a license.

Let's see...Eighty dead citizens; four dead JBTs.

Extrapolate that to eighty-million gun owners; that's FOUR MILLION JBTs.

They're gonna need a bigger boat.

Actually the gov casualty would have been higher because Koresh let them leave with their wounded and dead after the first battle. The feds ran out of ammo and were tactically surprised by the resistance. Today no anti fed leader will repeat this mistake, and will take no prisoners.

Fee mentioned: "... tactically surprised ..."

I remember a training exercise in the Army in which I was a member of an ambush team. Six of us attacked a two truck convoy on a forest road. The attack lasted less than thirty seconds and the attacked convoy didn't get off a shot.

The lesson is that defensive measures alone will not be sufficient to prevail.

The movie “They Live” says it all about this election.

First thing that came to mind on November 4th. We see what's going on, and people, even some intelligent people, just don't get it. Obamazombies...

We should have run Roddy Piper instead of McCain.
