Larry Elder hosts a daily radio talk show on KABC in Los Angeles.
Last Wednesday, I was listening to his post election analysis. He was relating the previous Tuesday night's election coverage show which he co-hosted with KABC colleagues Doug McIntyre and Al Rantel.
During this show, Larry was astonished to learn that both McIntyre and Rantel had voted for Obama. Both McIntyre and Rantel, like Larry, are supposedly free market, small government types. He found their explanations for voting for Obama to be absurd and goofy. They were so nonsensical that Larry felt like he was surrounded by the Marx Brothers. Larry has now given them that nickname.
Doug McIntyre was listening to Larry's Wednesday show and wanted to correct Larry on one point. Larry put Doug on the show. As you can hear from this audio clip, Larry pretty much ripped Doug a new one. Blogger graemebird covered this quite well last Friday.
Larry continues to refer to Rantel and McIntyre as the Marx Brothers.
I have *never* watched Obama make a speech. I have only seen or heard clips, so he sounds goofy to me.
I’ve seen this link before, but today is the first time I’ve read any of it. I think it’s true. It’s the only explanation to how people can think “change” is enough of a reason to believe Obama is qualified to be president.
Doug, I wish I could tell you that I hate saying I told ya so, but I don't, so I will say it. :) Remember during McIntyre's first week at getting the morning host job, I complained to you that he had "relaxed" a lot of his "principles" and was fawning and foaming over certain leftie politico guests?
Ever since, he's been a lot less the conservative Constitution scholar and more the middle-of-the-road guy who claims both sides are equally messed up. He went anti-war around the same time.
When he first came to the radio, in the post-2000 election days, graveyard hours, he was amazing. I almost wished I wasn't sleeping so I could hear more.
Shocking that in L.A. we don't have a good conservative morning drive host.
Since Doug has been getting more grating and less conservative, I am not as stunned by his defection. But he said he needed a mental health day and did not work Friday, after the shake-up with Mr. Elder.
I am more saddened by Al Rantel, because I have rarely disagreed with him. I feel he was bamboozled. Certainly many of us were not huge McCain fans before the nominees were chosen, but my dear G-d, I think McCain loves this country and knows how to defend it, and that is the main thing at this point. I haven’t seen much evidence that Obama even understands the point of the United States of America yet.
Not surprised. Rantel was telegraphing his pro-Nobama man crush way ahead of election day.
We have Laura Ingraham on 1260 AM.
He’s talking about this thread right now!
Keep it up, Sage. I want Obama to succeed in defending our country; I want him to fail in transforming it.
Start posting here, Larry.
They don’t know Milton Friedman from Milton Berle. A great line.
I was at an event earlier this year when Larry spoke at the Reagan Library. There will come a day when he runs for office. I’m there, Sage.
I watched the live stream of that.
Smart,Sexy and Funny
If I were single, I would stalk him.

Larry is the man Id vote early and often for him
Is that poonie and his twin brother ?
I know not who you refer to...
That’s what Larry just said. I didn’t make that connection (slaps self in head).
I heard him!
