U.S. President-elect Barack Obama's historic victory does not bode well for comedians who have thrived on jokes about President George W. Bush, experts say.
Obama, who was backed by many Hollywood figures, will be inaugurated on January 20 as the United States' first black president against a backdrop of a global financial crisis and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Whether because he was the favorite of left-leaning comics, the historic nature of his election or that so far he has made few gaffes, comedians are finding little to joke about so far.

A half way decent comic will figure out that he can make jokes about obama that are flattering to him, while at the expense of whitey—at the very same time! Book it.
Where'd you see that?
Can't remember his name, but he does this hilarious bit about how movies of first black this-or-that teams and how the evil white guys are your typical racists that are WAY over the top. The funny part is when he says he saw one movie about the “first black swim team.” Ha! As in, “we're all the way down to the first black swim team-—what's left, the first black ping-pong team?”
I thought it was pretty funny and so did the black and white audience (comedy central TV).
Spot on. I've said the same about him, but it's because I just don't think oBama is that smart. He has a tin ear and has absolutely no clue that he sounds arrogant most of the time. Like in Ann Coulter's article where she talks of his fawning interview by Matt Lauer, where Lauer asks him about his supporters believing him to be some kind of messiah and the One etc. Ann points out that in his answer obama does NOTHING to dispell that notion and answers in a general sense.
Any normal person would talk that savior comparisons down.
It's going to be a hard fall for BO when it happens. And he'll do it to himself.
It will be like the days in Berlin that inspired Cabaret. Isherwood and Auden, anyone?
I guess that’s why bill clinton said obamas a joke right.
The word hypocrite will be stamped on the foreheads of these comedians as they become uneasy criticizing the PC party that is not afraid of sicking lawyers on all who oppose “ The change”.
Hopefully these comedians will get an education on what Party actually supports the Bill of rights.

Late-Night Comics Skewer Republicans 7-to-1, Study Finds
If you’re a fan of Jay Leno or David Letterman, you may already know this: You have to listen to seven Republican jokes for every one the late-night comedians tell about Democrats.
[snip]
A study shows the Kings of Late Night are not equal-opportunity destroyers this year when it comes to telling jokes about the candidates for president and vice president — they’re hammering Republicans a stunning seven times more often than they skewer Democrats.
The Center for Media and Public Affairs, a media analysis group, kept a tally of jokes told about the presidential contenders on the “Late Show” and “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” in the five weeks after McCain chose Sarah Palin to be his running mate and vaulted the little-known Alaska governor into the national spotlight.
The total: Republicans, 286. Democrats, 42.
“Generally the Republicans get targeted much more often than Democrats, but this election is driving it off the charts,” said CMPA Executive Director Donald Rieck.
Letterman and Leno told 106 jokes about McCain and 180 about Palin in the 25 shows that aired between Aug. 29, when McCain chose her, and Oct. 2, the date of the vice presidential debate.
Barack Obama, who may be Leno’s guest next week, was targeted only 26 times — barely once a night. His gaffe-prone running mate, Joe Biden, who is scheduled to appear on Leno Thursday night, was hit only 16 times, not even one-tenth the number of jokes told about Palin over the five-week period.

Obama also has no experience, and it will show. The astute comedians will see this.
Before I went to work last night, the tv was tuned to Jay Leno. The first five jokes I heard during his monologue were directed at Bush and Palin. Someone has to tell Jay that there’s a new president. I’ll bet they’ll still be doing Bush jokes eight years from now.
