Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site.
Gone are the promises on how an Obama administration would handle 25 different agenda items - everything from Iraq and immigration to taxes and urban policy - all items laid out on his campaign Web site, www.BarackObama.com.
Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives.
We are currently retooling the Web site, said Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro.
The site went active on Wednesday and was available to the public Thursday. The agenda items, which were active for at least part of the weekend, appear to have been deleted by late Saturday.

It was pointed out by a caller to the Limbaugh show that lots of ideas on the original change.gov that were in Rahm Emanuel’s 2006 book.
You can still see the google cache.
speaking of disappearing
he had to go to HI for his granny, she came out of the hospital for a broken hip but died of cancer just before he got his nomination
Now why hasn’t he gone to her funeral, or has the funeral gone?
surely you would think one person in the media could actually find out if granny has been buried by now
I kept wondering when reality would hit this group. By the time you figure up the car industry, the banking folks, and this stimulus package here in Dec (and likely another in April, I’m betting)...there really isn’t alot of extra cash laying around.
The health care package? He’ll appoint some folks to do the research...but their final report won’t come until Nov 2009, and he’ll likely delay his final program until May 2010....making it a political topic for the house races.
The internal security apparatus he discussed? He’ll have a committee studying this...but no results until May 2010...same as health care.
He’ll concentrate on the little things that he can do for free...dump the Cuba Embargo, downsize the Iraq war by summer 2010, and make speeches where he’s up on the stage by himself and looking “marvelous”.
Wayback usually takes a while to archive, as in months.

and send them to mental institutions
just musing: I wonder how soon before he opens the prisons and frees all the “political prisoners”
“...saddled with the Trillion Dollar plu$$$$ ...”
Perhaps he and his cronies should have stayed in town and worked on putting some rules and boundaries on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae instead of letting it run amok with the money.
Now the Democrats have to fix their big mess. It doesn’t matter if Pelosi says it’s not the Democrats’ fault. Read the time line of history there, Pelosi, and you’ll see all your left wing buddies’ fingerprints all over this mess.
It’s the Democrats’ fault.
I would like to see it. Ping me if you find it.
Obviously Obama wants this information to disappear, but from WHOM?
In my opinion it makes more sense that he would want it to disappear from his liberal constituents than from conservatives.
Obama said during his acceptance speech that he would have to do things that his liberal constituents would disagree with.
He has also said that many of his economic proposals would have to wait since they would not be good for this economy.
Most of his policies are so far leftist that it makes no sense that he would be hiding them from US- OUR trust would not be breached, the support of his leftist supporters WOULD if he failed to implement every looney tenant of his campaign platform.
That’s okay. His fanatical followers have never know anything Obama ever said except “change”.
I saw the service page as originally released and with the changes. I’ve seen both of them. I confirm it. I even printed out the original service page, but threw it out.
Heh wow I am so suprised.
(not really)
