U.S. forces in Afghanistan will "back off" from firing at insurgents if the fighters are using civilian buildings as cover, the U.S. commander in eastern Afghanistan told CNN.
"I've given direct guidance, and so has my boss to me, that if there's any doubt at all that the enemy is firing from a house or building where there might be women and children, that we'll just back off," Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Schloesser, the commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division, told CNN's Barbara Starr.
"That potentially is something that we did not do before, but now because of this increased emphasis, we are doing," he said in an interview at an outpost in Afghanistan's Paktika province near the Pakistani border.

The press has more sympathy for foreign terrorists (and the innocent civilians who serve tea and cookies to those “using them as human shields” - after joining them in 5x daily prayer and washing them) than innocent Americans anyway. The government has apparently accepted the same policy.
We may as well just wrap the whole thing up and come home. Why should we waste the lives of our soldiers when they are there for a specific reason. We’re supposed to be there because the Taliban were sheltering the people that killed 3000 of our CIVILIANS! Why stay when we can’t fight back?
Big mistake to further tie our Troops hands.

Why not just send them all of our strategies, so they don’t get hurt?

This is a Vietnam era mistake. There can be no guarantees of a safe zone or situation for the enemy, or that is what the enemy will use.
In fact, the Taliban are the ones that, under the guise and color of Afghan governance DEMANDED this change in policy.
The enemy knew about this decision long before CNN did.

We should take great pains not to endanger women and children during combat, there should also be NO quarter for anyone who uses human shields during combat, kill every one of them on the field of battle, if they escape, and can be identified later, hang every last one. This will do much to discourage this craven tactic. This reminds me of a quote. “Golda Meir We can forgive you for killing our sons. But we will never forgive you for making us kill yours” New message, do NOT hide behind women and children, it will get you killed.
This has been their favorite tactic for years....and we have just given it increased strength.
How are we supposed to know the difference, unless the civlians are women and children? They don’t wear uniforms. They dress to blend in. That is one reason why they’re not (supposed to be) covered under the Geneva Convention.
When have the terrorist thugs NOT hidden behind women & children? They’re SO brave. (gag)

Read The Haj by Leon Uris. For centuries moslems have used their places of worship , children and innocents as cover during war time. Truely cowardly.
This is what Liberal ideology does. Could not be an easier way for the enemy to win then just simply use civilians as cover.
The Democrats also did this as a way to help the enemy. Remember all the Democrats who went over as “Human Shields” to try to undermine our forces in action?
